The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2015

I envy you omairwasti . :smiley: Do you think if I email them with a genuine looking alabei (idk how to spell) they’ll give me 2-3 extra days to get done with the app, soft and hard. Darnit, I still hate myself for not considering USC earlier. <;/

alibi*
Isn’t it a little TOO late for that?

is somebody here applying to brown?

I’ve told you all my stats already :smiley:
SAT I 1830
SAT II going to take on 22nd
got 76% in agha khan board first year exams.
IELTS 7.0 if that help :stuck_out_tongue:
And I can’t go for canada :frowning: Dad says its way too cold for me. And U.K is too expensive an option and doesn’t have too great engineering programs. I am looking for Germany as well. Do you know ny decent english Unis there?

@Sahiscope Yeah I did.

lol @ intemister :stuck_out_tongue:
and yes sorry, it is too late. btw anyone here applied to ant UC?
@ofmoria. You have got to be kidding me right? Are you forgetting Cambridge and Oxford?? And then the top engineering program in all of UK in THE IMPERIAL COLLEGE!! apply to imperial. For mechanical (im applying there for mech too) they require an A* in Maths, A in Physics and an A in any other subject.

well yes Imperial is awesome, but what are the odds of me getting in there? I have not done A levels. Don’t have super amazing SATs, I think its too much of a longshot. or do u think i should still apply?
BTW do know nything abt the costs of imperial? about how much a year including tuition and hostel ?

Things look bleek mon ami. Costs in England are indeed very high. SATs do Not matter in the UK and if you havn’t done the levels, (o or a) -or have done them poorly- one does not have a good chance. Scholarships are hard to get and Imperial is one of the best colleges in the world. So maybe imperial isn’t the best place for someone with these stats. Sorry for being so negative, I missed 100 full tuition scholarships at USC. :-||

Sucks to be you man. Thanks anyway for recommending georgia. I’m applying there. Do I have a fair chance of getting in?
Nd are degrees from Korea prestigious in U.S.A ?

ofmoria u should have tried for HKUST… hong kong Uni of Science and Tech.
The intake rate of Georgia for the class of 2014 was pretty good. Do apply over there. Also try for National University of Singapore. Also try Australia; you also get Australian citizenship at the end of your BSC

So, I need safeties with good international aid/scholarships. (I can pay around $10-15k a year)

any takers?

@omairwasti
Yes I am applying to NUS. It is in fact my first choice. But I wanted to try other places as safeties as well. Somebody else also recommended Aus. Maybe I’m gonna try for it.
Thx for the help. You guys are Awesome :D

yes I know that ofmoria… We are lol :p

Hayyan, uhh, try NUS. If I can find another ill write it in this thread.
and try carleton. on the common app, its application is free.

Carleton by no measure is a safety school! State colleges are good safeties. U of South Dakota’s fees are <9,000$. And ASU admits almost anyone. If you don’t like going to a low tier, you can always go to community college( not talking about anyone speci).

Does anyone know any fellow Pakis is community colleges? What do they say?Whats the deal with that homestay business?

Carleton seems awesome. They have a very generous financial aid it seems. But sadly no engineering :frowning: . No point in applying there for me…
BTW Georgia is asking for foreign credential evaluation. Now there’s no time left for me. What should I do?

Ofmoria, just send them your school’s official transcript… Mcgill’s deadline is also Jan 15th

But I dont know about their foreign credit eval so I might be wrong.

woW, I just crossed the 100 mark :)

Ofmoria! You are very lucky :smiley:
