The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2015

Are US authorities still giving out student visas to Pakistani students unhindered?

Even you people have the same problem like ours(ours=in Nepal) in case of visa isn’t it? I hope they give visas easily to the ones who are going to top-tier colleges. Has there been any incident when a student accepted at a top-tier college has been denied for visa?

OK guys! start telling us if u get acceptances, rejections or offers from universities! Any university counts! may it be in USA, UK, AUS, CAN, etc.
:D

^Well, I got into: UK (Imperial, UCL, Sheffield, Warwick), USA (Tulane, Texas A&M), Canada (McMaster) and Germany (Jacobs)
Rejected by Cambridge :stuck_out_tongue:
Deferred by Stanford
What about you guys?

Oh, and McGill.

Mubarak e yaar.

I am at KCL, London doing a PhD. I also write a weekly column for a political blog, but maybe they wont let me post the name here.

Ivies are overrated. Classes are huge and are taught by grad. students and TAs. The teachers themselves are too busy with their research. I recommend everyone to go to LACs. Prefer small selective schools over the big ones. The freshman class is huge in big schools and there is hardly any sense of community at such places. I go to Davidson and I love it. Undergraduate studies aren’t given that much attention in big universities. As long as you get a good gpa and go to a good graduate programme, you will be fine.So think about it. My roommate chose Davidson over Duke and Harvard.

^ no one said the ivies were underrated.

i was accepted by michigan early action (i’m a michigan resident). nothing apart from that, unfortunately.

@#309:

Then your roomie is a r’tard.

Hey guys, whats ur take on some student’s problem of finding it difficult to write college essays? Given that, essays are not as important part of our education as they are of American education; therefore, we are not used to writing them?

Congrats freakozoid, did you choose any to actually go to.
Did A&M give you aid/scholarships?

freakozoid, I think u have all the world open if u dont get into anymore unis lol. congrats

NO offer from US, as I replied under regular decision and aprt from the UCs and USC which will notify in March…

applied* not replied

Lol thanks guys, though these were all the safeties. All the tough ones are ahead which are gonna pwn me so baaaaaad. And no, Texas A&M is still processing my financial aid application, so I have to wait for the money like a good boy. :P

Terribly sorry people, I havn;t been posting. I was actually too down in the dumps, got a B in biology As Level :frowning: . Damn that didn’t feel good. Any way, 10,000$ scholarship at U of the pacific, 15,000$ at Westminster Utah, anyone else applying to Westminster UT? they want me to apply for the honors program but the essay is stupid :l

Yay my Cornell interview went pretty well  It was totally non-stressful and the alum was quite nice too.

Err… aren’t all interviews like that (non-professional ones)
I’ve had 3 thus far, and all have pretty much the same I suppose…

I got into USC today ! I applied for the scholarship before December 1st but my packet didn’t mention anything regarding the 2 big scholarships. Hopefully I’ll get a smaller one. Anyone else get accepted into USC and get the scholarship ?
