Which meal plan is "just enough?" I'm looking toward 5, and all my friends have said 4 or 5, but which would you all recommend for freshman fall semester?

Has anyone heard of thie ECON 004 professor: POLBORN, SARAH?

If I fail AP Chemistry this semester, how likely will PSU take away my admission? I already have enough science credits to graduate and/or meet PSU's admission requirement.

MEAL PLANS---From PSU's website: 'You may change the size of your plan anytime during the semester until 14 days before the last day of final exams. '

My D had meal plan #3 and we were able to change to #4 toward the end of the semester. She ate breakfast in her room, but lunch and dinner at the dining hall (including weekends). As long as you keep an eye on your point balance, you can change meal plans so you do not run out of points and do not pay for too many points. I think they do let you carry over points from the fall semester to the spring semester .

Neato! Thanks.

A related question: How much money should I have available to survive Freshman year to spend on food/clothes/dorm stuff/etc?

lil killer, relax for the rest of the semester. Nothing will happen and you have plenty of time to worry about these things. Take science classes during the summer (ex, psychology, chemistry, biology). I don't recommend taking more than 3.

The weather is like NY.

When you get there, be active.

Talking about NY, did the 11 hours bus ride kill me or what? Home sweet home. I shall cherish the serenity of the bathroom for a week.

Good luck to everyone going to PSU next year. Take advantage of the resources and participate in as many things as possible. Don't let large classes frustrate you, you will get plenty of personal attention as long as you take the initiative and seek it.

Don't procrastinate.
Study the material lecture on the same day.
Enjoy your time.

Which part of NY do you live in? It takes 11 hours?!?!?!

How long is the ride from Queens, NYC? Thanks!

Hey bbyy. Do you live in Queens? I live in Manhattan. Greyhound website says it takes 6 hrs 45 min from Penn Station to State College. That is a really long ride. I think I am going to throw up on that bus!

those liars!!!!!!!!!!!!! it said my trip from port authority would take 7:45 hours but it went from 2:15 pm until 1:15 am,stopping at least 5 times along the way. Reasons to throw up were abundant.

What did you do at 1:15 AM? The residence halls are open that early on the first day (move in)? I thought they open at 8AM on move-in day or something.

Is taking AMTRAK (3 1/2 hours) from Penn Station and transferring to Greyhound (2 hours) at Harrisburg, PA a better route? The price nearly doubles, but I think I can survive AMTRAK longer. I'm not very fond of buses.

stop asking too many question man.
1.)I arrived in ny at 1 yesterday for spring break.

2.)make that decision yourself.

lil killer, yeah I live in Queens! Manhattan and Queens are about 1 hour apart, right? I can't believe it takes 7 hours! That's definitely giving me second thoughts.

Isn't there a direct chinatown bus for really cheap. PSU to NYC?
http://www.dragondeluxe.com/

like 4 hrs.

sax: Wow. Thanks. It goes from NYC to State College, PA for $35/70. It only takes 4 hours too? I feel like visiting again by myself...

Umm, I wonder if that bus works...has anyone taken their buses?

I know from experience, with greyhound, it takes 10 hours because there is no express.

appearantly, those "chinatown" buses have very bady service and no issurance.

The chinatown buses are fine/great deal. You can get advanced tickets. They run from NYC to Phila. like 10 times a day.Not dure how often from State college to NYC. Seriously, fine. 4 1/2 hour trip. Buy round trip and it's cheaper. Google it and read
