there was a passage of an uncle speaking to his nephew(?) about his decision to become a writer instead of a businessperson

it was asking you the mood of the author of a short passage, but the choices were sentence completion-like.....ebullient, diffident, wry, surly, and some other one that was wrong

the other word was sanguine

lol, ye, thanks.....i knew the definitions of all 3 of those words....i just couldnt figure out what surly or wry meant so i had to guess =(

crap, i think i thought from the view of the nephew.... diffidence ... must've been wry then

jesus, so far ive missed like 5 CR

what the hell, we were suppose to incorporate science in math??

let me list off some of the math free answer section...this is just what i got, could be wrong. add to it bc i dont rem them all.

7 (artists exhibition question, how many single)

2400 (um. this number just comes to mind..dont remember question)
4.
5.

.25 (i think this was the one ar+br= ..)

141..maybe?

4 (exponent question)

80 ( green 2door alloy cars)

1/2 (diameter of circle)

I got the exact same chocaholic except the car one which im still fighting over

1.
2. 7 (artists exhibition question, how many single) (I agree)
3. 2400 (um. this number just comes to mind..dont remember question) (I agree it was about # of people)
4.
5.
6. .25 (i think this was the one ar+br= ..) (I agree)
7. 141..maybe? (I think this is wrong :/)
8. 4 (exponent question) (don't remember)
9. 80 ( green 2door alloy cars) (right)
10. 1/2 (diameter of circle) (right)

for the last one in first math, ans was x^2=y^2 because it had to be true. any1 else get that

^ one of the questions was one possible side of the triangle, i put 21, there are other possibilities of course...

I got the same answers for all of those questions though...=)

yes, x^2 = y^2 was the answer, because x=y and x=-y could have been true, but didnt HAVE to be true. C was the only one that had to have been true

yeah, chinnu, i got that

EDIT: corey, do you remember the other 2 sides of triangle?

the length of the triangle was anywhere between

19<x<23

other 2 sides were 2 and 21, so basically you just had to make a triangle that followed the side sum rule thing, sum of 2 sides > 3rd side

does anyone remember the famous essayist question? sentence completion? i had a lot of trouble with that one

Grid-ins
1. 11
2. 7 (artists exhibition question, how many sing
3. 2400 (childrens adults)
4. 19<x<23 (triangle given length 2 and 21)
5. 52.5 (average product/hr of 8-hr shift)
6. .25 (ar+br)
7. 141..(parallel lines)
8. 4 (if a^3=x^2 what is y if a^(2y+1)=x^6)
9. 80 (green 2door alloy cars)
10. 1/2 (diameter of circle)

what was number 1 and why was it 11? I think i put 12

^ exactly =)

um sentences completions i'll just write down random answers i rememberd

crushed
disenfranchised/register
diatribe
itinerants
financial/prestige
stopgap
euphemism

i thought the 2nd SC was harder than the first...but the second did only have 5 questions though

EDIT: 11 and 12 were both possible answers for that question. 4n had to be less than 50, and 5n had to be more, so 11 and 12 are the 2 possible answers

wait isn't the children's question answer 600people. the ratio of kids to parents was 3:1. there were 480 kids so. there must have been 120 parents. 480:120=3:1. There were 600 people since 480=120=600. atleast that's what i got. any1 esle get this. i

wait i got 141 for parallel i think... x was an obtuse angle right?

edit: wasn't it 1:4 children to adults? i got 2400 anyway
