the official "RATE MY EC" thread

ah, a true 10!

Nevermind, it's not worth it.

let's be nice here people. this is CC, not the real world. remember that.

Hah.

People on CC have been so much more rude-spirited and cruel to me than anyone I've ever met in the real world.

Cruel nerds.

It's amusing, really. Just shows what competition really is.

Laureate Diploma ..

they're trying to be like IB?

no clue who they're trying to copy, all i know is its a crap load of work...and it gets me a poor man a thousand dollars for writing an essay =)

No dude...all I do is work. I mean, I box and have been in a few state tournaments and also work on cars in my spare time but I don't know if a college wants that.

You have to be very uneducated to have so many ECs. Colleges DO NOT WANT QUANTITY. DEDICATION AND QUALITY IS WHAT MATTERS. Obviously, if you have over 6, you are not fully dedicated in the eyes of the admissions committees at the universities.

Some of these ECs are worthless...Honors Societies do not matter...since when is your number of APs an EC.

Also...you might not fit most of your ECs on your application...

"...since when is your number of APs an EC."

it is if you self study them.

Quality or quantity aside, who cares? Just do what you want to do. Some people have many interests and others have few. I really don't give a rat's ass about what the admissions committee thinks about my ECs.

^ some people believe in delayed gratification.

i.e., they will sacrifice some time now so that in a couple years they will get into the college they want.

others prefer more instant gratification.

it's a personal choice and there is a lot of grey area in between the two extremes.

Oh, this sounds kind of fun!
