They send your finaid letter about one week after the admission letters.

laurak: Thanks! Just trying to stay positive...Nobody from my school got in, but oh well...My prospective major is Economics, and I am pre-law. I would also like to minor in something like business management or political science. What about you?

starry: Sorry to hear no one got in from your school. Last year only one girl from my school got in, and so far three of us are still waiting for our results, myself included. I'm going to be mighty upset if all this wait was for nothing.

I'm a prospective English major with a Creative Writing concentration. I've also been mulling over a double-major (or at the very least a minor) in something equally as impractical like Philosophy or Linguistics, but I guess I'll see what tickles my fancy when I get there.

Hey did everybody get a letter accpted and rejected students? I have not got mine (I live close to the coll.). Does that mean I am rejected?
This sucks, man. AHHH!!!!

Congrats everyone and you know what?

[]Major strength/weakness: strength: great recs, good all-around, from an underrepresented state, applied SCEA. weakness: I don't stand out among all the other awesome people who applied here.
[li]Your thoughts on your decision: Inevitable, as I did not receive a phone call last week.[/li][/ul]Any other comments: A girl from my school who applied RD got in. Stanford had been my top choice for a long time, the perfect school with the perfect combination of academics and athletics. I'm very disappointed, and I would have liked to know what went Stanford did not like about my application that ultimately led to my rejection. I definitely expressed a lot of enthusiasm in my application, and my optional update was chock full of new honors and awards. I knew Stanford was a very high reach for me, but after my initial deferral (which only 30% of SCEA applicants get; half get rejected outright!) I though I might have a chance. I really wish Stanford gave interviews and allowed for extra material, it might have helped.

Whatever though. I'll be at Swarthmore or Chicago next year (or Duke or Brown if I get off the wait list) so I don't have much right to complain.

Do waitlisted applicants get financial aid stuff?

How many applicants were put on waitlist for Stanford?

Last year Stanford accepted 56 out of something like 800-1000 people off the waitlist. Unfortunately, they accepted more people early action this year, which will probably increase yield. It's possible, but don't bet on it.
