The Official SAT Writing Questions Thread

I have seen many different people make many different threads about many different writing questions. With this thread, maybe it can all be combined into one thread so that we can all learn from each other's questions and solutions.

According to the Xiggi method, it is not enough just to practice, but one must also understand why they "messed up."

So I will start us out with a question.

Despite the fact that cooking vegetables generally leads to vitamin loss, the nutritional value of raw tomatoes is actually less than tomatoes that have been thoroughly cooked. No Error

I put "No Error" but the answer is D (less than tomatoes). Why?

Because the way that the sentence is written you are comparing "nutritional value" to "tomatoes," which makes no sense. You would want to replace "less than tomatoes" with "less than that of tomatoes..." if I am correct.

diamondbacker is completely correct. That is the only problem with the sentence
