Yeah, you're right, he was flat-out rejected, not even deferred. I kinda thought he would get in. Apparently his high school has had some really bad luck with early applications this year...go figure.

Decision: Accepted! :)

location: cookeville, tennessee

i applied to stanford RD...i can't believe how insanel and almost random the EA results are. good luck to everyone in April, and for those that got in--congrats!

I know seriously, it seems almost haphazard the people who were or weren't accepted.

what do you mean?

it boils down to the essays. unless you have awesome teacher recs.

i think dxu meant that a lot of people who were rejected or deferred had reeeeally similar stats when compared to some who got accepted.

it's just interesting cause Stanford is almost like, quirky in its acceptances. just an observation. :o)

Yah, what i meant is what vanilla1 said. Probably the recs or essays that was the major factor between similar applicants...

I got accepted!

Congrats! and good luck for those waiting decisions!

what does the rejection letter look like/what does it read?

Brief stats:

SAT: 800, 790, 710

hey you guys...in the "questions from New Yorker" thread..this guy is projecting BS about Stanford - I need some help because I'm getting defensive!

Don't understand what the whole commotion is about there.
