my biggest time consumers online:
youtube- there's so many videos and movies you can watch on there, all those movies and tv episodes you missed, gotta love youtube.
CC- I look for ways to boost myself in the whole college application process, testing, college etc, when I could get so much more done by just getting started on them.
"important" surfing- looking up curiousities and quirks that happen to occupy my mind. contributes nothing whatsoever to my life goals.

I think senior year alone is the worst part of procrastinating.

I study in my closet. I have really bad ADD.

Maybe you should let others organize your life for you so that you don't mess it up and procrastinate!

I am liking the "lock yourself in a room" idea. I did something similar with one of my essays... I was endlessly procrastinating about it, and then complaining to my mom about my procrastinating... so she wouldn't let me eat (it was around dinner, and I was getting hungry) until it was done and I could show her the finished product. You'd be amazed what hunger does for your motivation.

Studies have shown that there's no statistically significant difference in grades for students who listen to music and those who don't.

Watching tv/youtube is another matter.

Making a list and checking it frequently works best for me. If I have to keep looking at a task, even one I really don't want to do, I'll do it just to get it out of the way.

I set my clock an hour and a half ahead, that way I will think it is later than it is. This usually works for the most part.

You actually can do that? That might only work if i actually didn't know...

Be Asian. /* fdfd */

Nah, asians procrastinate.

I know I do.

Stay off any instant messaging.
Do not go on CC or Wikipedia.
Be filled up. Eat something, like an apple that'll help you stay awake.
For me, music helps me concentrate from little noises. Others are different.
I say don't plan. JUST DO, AND GET IT DONE. Beast it.
Don't take naps. Just do, and get it done. Then sleep.
Keep your priorities straight.

u cant avoid procrastination no matter what u do

totally agree ^^

Some tips might work for you for a while, and at some point it will just not work anymore. It is just your personality that make you not procrastinate at all, unless you have a major turning point in your life that make you focus on academics all the time.

^ LOL I'm really hoping that turning point happens in my life in like the next...couple days lol.

avoid procastination? easy...heres how you do it. say you have a boring promt like below....just spice it up w/ a little of your own life.
for example--- essay topic : discuss the similarities between the 2 passages below. Compare and contrast the tone, smybols, character development used by emerson and hemmingway. in a coherent and knowledgable essay, argue which ...blah blah blah.

heres how you start-
Well, i dont know much about hemmingway or emerson, but i can tell you about what i did last weekend...
and end it with something like this- "and thats how i won the civil war" -

i've done this in my ap english....getting a c in the class....she still questions how im passing/in her class...(and believe me, he ap class at my school is not easy. shes that kind of teacher that wouldnt hand out 100% if Toni Morrison herself was in the class)
so thats how you can avoid procastinating. write about something you will have fun doing

good advice yes?

DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET. (If you're reading this then you probably are procrastinating. :P)

^^ i do that sometimes but then i end up just sitting there.... =.=

^haha, that's what i would probably do

you know whats great, procrastination has me up at 4:30 and i STILL CAN'T GET OFF OF CC. SOMEONE SHOOT ME NOW! i bet all you other 1 - 5 AM posters are in the same situation lol.
