-Reading a book tends to get me into study mode.
^ that usually is the reason why things pile up. I never come off the reading mode.
Ironically i procrastinate by looking up ways of being more productive.
yea the same problem....irony indeed.

awelex that mac/firefox combo is brilliant! thank you x100000

Just read the thread title and nothing else but:

Procrastination should be encouraged, not frowned upon.

^ Exactly. It's a good thing. Embrace it.

My preferred method of procrastination goes like this:
When I have something due the next day, I'll be like.. "ehhh I'll do it later, but right now, I'm going to work on this project do in like a month! Efficiency strikes again!" I procrastinate on important things by doing non-important things :]

No CC would make me implode.

disconnect internet while u study and work
period
if i dont i totally get flown off track.
xD

Accept that it happens and learn to live with sleep deprivation as a result.

Do not go NEAR the internet
Do your hardest assignment first, then reward yourself with an easier assignment
Make sure you're on a full stomach

I will be no help to this thread.

Sometimes the Internet is necessary...especially with online classes.

I have no tips to avoid procrastination. My motto is "as long as it gets done..." Some people/teachers get so offended if I'm doing my homework in class or before school in the morning. I'm just using my time the way I want to.

definitely avoid the internet lol

I'll sit down to do my homework with my laptop open, and mid sentence I'll be like, "lets hop on CNN.com, and check out what's going in the world", and then I'll get carried away going on like 500 different websites, and then only like 4 hours later I'll finish my homework.

Oh yea and of all websites, definitely avoid Youtube!!!
It's so easy to get consumed by it.

No facebook...millions of photos to look at
No CC...millions of posts to read
No Wiki...millions of links that lead you astray!!

I hate when i try to research something for hw by googling, then ending up on the wiki site. You read a couple sentences and see something u dont know/something interesting...next thing you know ur on the wiki site of something COMPLETELY RANDOM.

I don't know if I've said this already, but I'm a huge fan of library computers without Internet! It also helps to have one desk in the house in a quiet room (NOT a bedroom, separate work and relaxation) where you click on "homework mode."
