The Official UCB Fall of 2014 Decisions Thread

@Cayton‌
From what I can tell, yes. It’s supposedly not as good as UCLAs, but it seems more like my fit. Plus I want to maybe double major in English also and they obviously have a good English department. But yeah, I just didn’t see myself getting up there with all the piano and violin prodigies who are like world class performers at the UCLA audition. I’m more into songwriting and stuff.

@music1990‌

Ah, I see.

And yeah, Berkeley can’t have ALL of the best programs. You gotta leave some to UCLA. :P

I’m sure you’ll love Berkeley’s English program, but wouldn’t it be difficult to complete a double major in two years at Berkeley? That school is kind of anal about transfer students completing their studies in two years or “four semesters.”

@Cayton‌

Yeah it could be impossible, I’m not sure. I don’t want to look into the requirements too much and get all excited until I know I’m in. You know? Like I want to make sure I’m accepted before I start planning everything out. Then it will actually be fun and not nerve-racking. But I do have quite a few English credits that might satisfy some of the requirements. Who knows. Or maybe I’ll minor in it or something.

Hey this is random, but do you think you will still use cc once you transfer? I’ve been wondering if I will or not. It’s kinda sad to think most people stop using it once they get accepted or whatever.

Btw I’m pulling for you today! I’ll be searching for your decision when they come out.

@music1990‌

That makes a lot of sense. Why worry now, right?

I’ll continue to use CC after transferring. I think I could do a lot of good in helping other transfer hopefuls on this forum. Quite a few regulars are still on this forum even after transferring. Besides, I’ll need to ask help on the UCLA forum if I transfer there. :P

And thanks. Decisions will be out in just 7 minutes!!

Do you guys think that i have a chance?

I have 3.66 for linguistics major

Cal is the last UC I’m waiting on now for decisions! so that would be next week on the 25th??

My Gpa is 3.93, completed all the pre, but rejected by UCLA (sta). Do I still have a chance to get into ucb or nine out of ten times that cal will also reject me ? :(

And then there was one.

UC Berkeley is my last college that im waiting for and happens to by my absolute dream school. however i surprisingly did get into UCLA and i am totally ecstatic about that. 7 more days to go!

@Couldbeit‌ what’s your major? Some are obviously a lot easier to get in than others (Arts/Humanities being exceptionally easy with approximately a 40% acceptance rate, while Haas hovers in the single digits).

so glad that UCLA came out with their decisions before UCB. I feel a little more relaxed now that I have gotten into some schools

Round two, coming up. I don’t have high hopes for getting into Berkeley, but I’m more than satisfied with my schools already.

same here. got into both ucsd and ucsb. berkeley would be definitely nice. having to choose between three UC’s sounds like a good problem to have lol.

I feel a little bit more relieved now that I got into UCLA, so if I for some reason don’t get into UCB then I can always go to UCLA :slight_smile:

@noisnotananswer‌
thank you, my major is statistic

@‌Couldbeit
The fact that UCLA didn’t accept you doesn’t reflect on your chances for Berkeley. You have a good gpa, and so I think you have a great chance at getting into Cal. I don’t know why UCLA rejected you, but if you have everything in order, I wouldn’t give up. Good luck!

@music1990
thank you so much my friend.

@ucastell‌

Congrats! I knew you would get in to UCLA.

If I don’t get into Berkeley, I’m just going to go to UCLA also :stuck_out_tongue:

@Couldbeit‌
Yeah no problem. If it was me, I would appeal UCLA also. Your gpa is plenty good for statistics at UCLA.

Are you by chance out of state, or international?

@music1990‌
I am a resident of Ca. I joined the AGS club, I got the scholarship, I had work experience also. so sad
