@ocnative, umm to be honest I think it would be nice to get in, but I’m not going to die if I don’t get in. The main reason I want to go there is because they have a great program for premeds that gives them about 90% chance of getting into great med schools (Stanford, UCSF, Harvard etc), so yeah haha what about you?

@ucastell could you tell me more about the premed program you are talking about? I am also pre-med dying to get into Cal! :’(

I know this is random, but does anyone know what exactly myBerkeleyApplication will say on the day of decisions? Like will it just say “Accepted” where it now says “Application is in review”, or will there actually be a real acceptance/rejection letter posted there. I’m just curious because I like to imagine it lol

@music1990
From what i remember from a friend, it would say something along the line: “Congratulation, you have been admitted to the College of L&S” (or any other college with specific major?)

@Loyshi
For sure, thanks. I can visualize it now.

So what do you guys wanna do with this thread until decisions come out? Share stats? Future plans? We might as well make it fun to take our minds off being nervous and all.

We should post what our housing message says so we can speculate when decisions will be released.

I don’t see any housing app

@ucastell
That would be great for med school! I would love to go to Cal. It’s definitely my number one but I wouldn’t mind considering UCLA either, if admitted of course.

@RamonaFalls
Lol this is not going to turn out like the UCSD thread! :))

@music1990 Here’s my basic stats

UC GPA: 3.66
Major Pre-reqs: Finish in Spring
Intended Major: Math or Statistics
Berkeley’s TAP: Yes
IGETC?: Yes
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: M

@RamonaFalls @alsjfllakejfa
I think the only way you can possibly see anything close to a “housing” app is if you have a Calnet ID from summer session or concurrent enrollment. I have one from signing up for summer session, within MyFinAid, they ask me to fill out a College Verification form since i mentioned another family member going to college. Possible hope? :-?

The housing application thing was a joke. I thought it was pretty obvious since there’s no room for speculating when UCB’s decisions come out.

@RamonaFalls
I understood the sarcasm with the housing app. Like you said the release date isn’t changing, but there’s a possibility (close to none) of finding decision ahead of time… or at least let a guy hope? haha

@CalMCB2014, is called the BSP program and is designed to help first generation students, transfer students, and underrepresented minorities succeed in the sciences. Through that program there are also other programs designed for premed students who want to go to med school, it provides them with research opportunities etc… I can’t seem to find that specific website but I found the general description of BSP <a href=“About | Biology Scholars Program”>About | Biology Scholars Program;

@Ocnative, I hope you get into both that way you can compare both schools and see which one is a better fit for you :)

Why can’t this thread be as active as the UCSD one? I keep logging on hoping to see some new stuff, and there’s just 134 new posts on the dang UCSD thread (no offense to them) and nothing here. Where is everybody?! I know there has to be plenty of people applying to UCB.

@music1990, cause I know I won’t have a good chance. Computer Science, GPA: 3.47, did all articulated prereqs for Berkeley except one (the other 3-4 don’t articulate and are hard to find)

@music1990 Everyone knows when Cal is giving decisions, which avoids hundreds of pages of anxiety-driven speculation.

@alsjfllakejfa
Yeahh makes sense. But that looks fun though! I want that lol

@music1990

Lol it’s so dead in this thread!

Is there any other Political Science majors?

Lol, it is pretty fun, I’ve been checking that thread like 10 times a day.

Does anyone know the admittance rate of Political Science transfers to Berkeley and their average GPA?

For me, I already know I’m not getting into UCB even with a 3.83 you just never know with UCB, and plus i missing 2 pre reqs. UCSD if my top realistic choice. Plus knowing the exact date decisions are released helps. That day or the week of I’m sure this thread will get more posts
