@ucastell

Yeah!

And is biology at Berkeley really not that hard at the upper-division level? I mean, I know the curves aren’t as bad, but still…it’s BERKELEY, a school know for not being easy when it comes to the sciences…

@ucastell

Yeah!

@calhopeful14 Hahaha yeah i know right? more free time to just relax until decisions come out i guess. honestly dont fret to much about it, there nothing we can do now but just wait and hope UCB likes us enough lol. but i think your good as a history major, it has a pretty high acceptance right doesn’t it? unlike Chemical Biology :(

@ucastell no i didn’t unfortunately i live in Irvine so i couldn’t go but that’s really good to hear cause i do not like big classes at all like those giant lecture halls n all. and the fact that it apparently gets easier makes me feel a little better thanks lol. and i applied a Chemical Biology major, which i feel may be my downfall cause i heard its really hard to get into the college of chemistry there? what did you apply as?

Praying for us all to get in and live our dreams lol

@GreatestThe A friend of mine got waitlisted for Biz Econ as well for UCLA. He’s currently finishing Calc Il, so if you are currently finishing a prerequisite too, that may have had an impact on your admissions decision.

@Bookham It’s around 21% I think. Around the same as UCLA so that’s a good sign. I keep reading about people with these freaking phenomenal applications who get declined though. I know that Berkeley is holistic though so theres hope.

Did anyone else not fill out the additional comments section on the application? I didn’t know what to say there, and I was afraid using it to just add things I couldn’t fit into my essay would be bad. I really wish I would have done more research prior to filling it out.

Also, I forgot to fill in my fasfa before march second. It’s filled out now, but it’s clear from the financial aid packages from UCD, UCLA and UCSB that they haven’t really processed it yet. Should I just wait and see if they update soon, or call maybe? Hopefully it won’t matter in 6 days anyways, I guess.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.

@Cayton, oh no all the sciences and STEM majors in general are extremely difficult, but the lower division courses are the courses that can truly make a student go crazy lol My physics professor told us how the average for their second midterm was 42! ours was 44% haha. So yeah it is very difficult at Berkeley, but in upper divisions you’re only taking classes you should like, and competing just with Bio majors not Physics, math, chem majors (like in lower division where everybody wants to go to med school lol). Therefore, your third year shouldn’t be as bad, because as explained by my prof and TAP counselor by the time you’re a junior you already got rid of a lot of the competition or students who were just doing it for the money or because their parents made them major in those fields.

@Bookham, I hope you get in I heard applying for their chem school is very competitive but I wish you the best And yeah Cal day was an eye opener, it made me fall in love with that school oh stupid heart haha.

@ucastell

That’s great to hear!

@calhopeful14 honestly i think that the"holistic review" process will ruin me cause i don’t have any ECs just working and I don’t think my personal statements are the best either

@ucastell I know right, why cant i be satisfied with UCLA?? the heart wants what the heart wants i guess lol.

@Cayton

Awesome! I’m thinking of attending UCLA’s transfer day also. Possibly their Transfer Raza day too for Chicano/Latino students…but we’ll see.

I believe they have an event similar to UCLA (not sure really) and I probably will go, if admitted. You should go too!

@ocnative

I may. I may not. We shall see. :P

But I really do hope you get in at Berkeley, man! I think you will!

@Bookham, let’s just stay optimistic we have less than a week to find out! I always tell people about my friend’s story, he got in as a MCB major with a 3.1, so everything is possible!

@Cayton
Thanks, bud! I’m glad to hear you’re going to your dream school!

@ucastell
That makes Berkeley so unpredictable :-S…but I hope all of us get in! Six more dayssss!!!

@ocnative @ucastell

If you guys don’t get in, just remember that UCLA still loves you guys. :)

@Bookham: thanks for telling me that I still can have a chance. Yeah, I agree that it depends on my personal statement as well. Ucsb and Ucd had accepted me, but I would be more excited if I can go to Ucb. [-O<

Hey guys can I be apart of the crew? I may not have hundreds of posts, but I have a little heart, and I got accepted to UCLA and UCSD. 6 days until the future.

@nichtszumachen

Welcome and congrats on getting in at UCLA and UCSD! Hope you get in to Berkeley!

@Cayton

So have you just been in a constant amazing mood since u got into UCLA? And like bragging to your friends and stuff? If I get into Cal I think I will be in a really good mood for a really long time.

I applied UCLA and UCB but i got rejected from Ucla yesterday. Now im so nervous :((

GPA 3.8-3.9 , major GPA is 4.0.
major development studies
essay : 8/10 so good!
activity: PTK, economics club, anthropology club and sustainable workshop.

Is it possible to get in?

So far I’ve been 2/2 with UCLA and UCSD for astrophysics and computer engineering respectively with a 3.6gpa but I’m still hella nervous about cal

@kio3063
What major did you use for UCLA?

@music1990

Pretty much, lol. I haven’t had the chance to tell my friends yet, but I will soon! I won’t brag, though. :P

If anything, my family is doing most of the bragging, now. My mom is telling all her friends about me getting in at UCLA and my sister is telling her friends!

And I bet you’ll be feeling ecstatic if/when you get in at Berkeley! Your family will probably brag, too. :)
