Same thing happened with me @starflake .
Now that I checked again, I also applied in November. A little over 7 hours left!
Unfortunately there;s a chance that I won’t be here when the clock hits 6 but I’ll try to back as soon as possible- even if I have to escape my workplace!
Did you all see the new website UF made just for the decisions? My “F5” is ready to be abused.
@AGoodFloridian Hopefully our applications weren’t thrown in the trash pile! Lol I was looking at the Class of '18 thread, and it seems decisions came out at around 5:30 pm, so 6 is no guarantee!
@Melissa96 … I’ve seen you before, I remember that epic profile pic. You were on last year’s thread too, right?
Some things never change huh? It’s almost like tradition now tuning in to every year’s decision threads. ( Yes, I’m also looking at you @Gator88NE !)
After all the commotion ends, this thread will also go down in CC history for next year’s applicants to worry their hearts out! Hahaha, and the cycle continues.
Darn my daughter just got a message saying the housing email was an error too. Was trying to hold to a little hope that it went out to those accepted. AGoodFloridian didn’t see a new UF website – what is it?
@Lilly5
On the “Check your Status” page, when you click on the “Freshman” tab, it directs you to a “decisions.admissions” etc… Nothing too big, but I found it interesting.
Boy… I was in conflict of whether I should bring my laptop to work and find out there, but I want to avoid all of that attention, be it a positive or negative answer.
I mean, you guys are not going to have your parents huddled around you once you check out the answer right? xD
@AGoodFloridian I’m doing it alone in my room just in case it’s a bad decision… If I do get in then I’ll tell my parents! I don’t want to open it in front of them just in case I don’t get in.
My son got the housing email and also the correction but it is a little bizarre since clearly it was not sent to all applicants as they stated in the correction!
The email and decisions aren’t related at all. Admissions doesn’t let the rest of campus know who is admitted until the following week. They want to be the first to give out answers to prevent any kind of hiccups.
My daughter was accepted to UF last year but didn’t end up attending. She applied Summer B so I put the housing deposit down for both the summer and fall sessions. The summer deposit was put on my credit card, and UF credited my card once we declined admission and submitted the reimbursement request. However, the fall deposit was made from the FL Prepaid account. I noticed about two months later that the deposit (minus the wonderful cancellation fee) was not credited back to the account. I had to call several times, and finally they mailed me a check. They said it was a glitch … Seems there’s a lot of that going on! Think how much money they can make on the glitch if people that don’t end up attending aren’t paying attention or forget about their housing deposit. I find it hard to believe it was just me with the glitch. And I almost forgot. So don’t forget and follow up on your deposit(s) everyone that isn’t attending!
@yellowgranite56 - The housing deposit is non-refundable.
The date you submit your housing application, including paying the $25 non-refundable housing application fee, becomes your Housing Application Date. This date establishes your “place in line” for being offered housing or being assigned to your hall and/or room type preferences. For these reasons, we strongly encourage you to apply for housing right now instead of waiting to hear if you will be admitted to the University of Florida.
@yellowgranite56 - I may have misunderstood. This is the application fee. I guess you are indicating the actual deposit. My bad. Nerves are a little on edge right now, lol.
