^Never looked at it that way. Maybe you can ask the mods to change your username to 2xDeferredVictim. lol

I think I'm gonna submit my UMich deposit today. I probably have no hope of getting into Stanford or Brown, after getting waitlisted by UC and rejected by MIT.

The Committee on Admissions has carefully considered your application for admission to the University of Chicago, Class of 2013. Although the Committee has decided not to offer you admission at this time, we have placed your name on an unranked waiting list. Over the past five years, between one and twenty-nine percent of those students who accepted a place on the waiting list were offered admission (with the average for that same period being eight percent).

Final admission decisions will be made after we have received replies to our first offers of admission. We will make every effort to conclude decision-making by the end of June. Our need-blind financial aid policy for US citizens and permanent residents will be in force for those on the waiting list, as it has been throughout the competition.

If you wish to accept a place on the waiting list, please indicate your decision via the online wait list reply form by April 15, 2009. If you have any questions about this status, please contact Madeline Wirtz by telephone at 773-834-6769 or by e-mail at

^i wouldn't give up hope on stanford or brown. every school's gonna be different, and i wouldn't discount your chances because of this. you would really regret it if you submitted your deposit, and then received an acceptance somewhere else...

^They're releasing decisions in waves, so expect your decision by tonight. (They're going from EST to the Pacific coast) They're doing this to ease the server load.

bulldoghopeful, that is unreal?! I'm sure, however, that you will get into many a fine school. Did you guys get an email saying RD are up? Or is it just constant checking on the website?

my mother also applied and ended up not attending... i think this will be the case for me, but i'm pleasantly surprised because i really didn't like my essay at all.
