^
match IMO

Blackpen, is there any chance of me getting a deferral?

bbq: Nobody gets rejected EA......you either are accepted or deferred......then during regular admission you are either accepted or waitlisted.....I'm not aware of anyone who has actually ever been rejected.....

taperjeangirl, i think you are a reach with that ACT score. If you can improve to 30 and apply early, I think you'll be fine. The average admitted students' SAT score for Asian American students is over 1400.

rodney
umich does not have EA, but rather early response where you can get rejected.

bbq
you're gpa is too low for umich....
but
deferral is possible as is acceptance, you will need to prove to umich you're strong in these categories (all of which you have control over right now): SAT (retake), teacher recs, essays, class rank, and ECs.

Does anyone know if community college courses are weighted into your high school GPA? And what's the big perk about being in honors?

alright, cool. i've been getting 32-34 on practice ACT tests, so that should probably help. thanks.

JSPARK- I like your chances (I'd say 80-90% chance), as long as you apply early and write a good essay.

bbq- your GPA is low, but the killer is that math SAT score, 600 is terrible for engineering, you have to bring that up to at least a 700 for engineering. I know for certain that for engineering, they care more about your math SAT, and I've read a presentation back in 2002 that the median math SAT for instate students in engineering was 700. I can only imagine that this number has gone up, plus you are out of state, Maryland, one of the better represented states at Michigan.
