I would love to hear someone's input on my chances! Thank you!

I like your chances mgc. You have maintained a good GPA despite taking a challenging courseload and your class rank is solid. Your ACT is not great, but Michigan does not weigh standardized scores too heavily. Try improving it by a couple of points, but don't sweat it.

I've already posted this and blackpen said that I was in, just thought I'd repost and see what Alexandre has to say. Thanks brother!

[ *] Other stats:3 APs, but my school only offers 11 in which 3 are languages and 3 are reserved for people in our "Science Academy". The highest number of total APs in my grade for people not going to college to take classes is 5 or 6. and my honors physics class should have been AP but my teacher hated the AP quiz so it wasn't. Anyway, I have taken at least 2 honors/AP classes a year since freshman year

neelyboy: to calculate UM unweighted GPA, only count 10th and 11th grade, all As/A-/A+s are a 4.0, all Bs/B-/B+s are a 3.0, and so on. Take off any extra points you get for honors and a.p., too.

ro2009: pretty sure you're in (GPA is a little low) but great ACT and A.P.s

scott2009: your chances look really good

k so my UM GPA would be 3.97, since i got straight a's with 6 classes each semester sophomore year, then 5 a's 1 b first sem. junior year, 4 a's 2 b's second sem. junior year. 24+24+23+22/96 = 93/96 = 3.97, right? and let me know my chances if you can.

[quote]
93/96 = 3.97

Really? Do it again.

Here's the umich scale I posted a while back

make sure you only calculate academic courses

EDIT:
neelyboy: Your gpa would be 93/12 which is 3.875. Its not bad, assuming you counted only academic courses (an A in home ec. doesn't count)

neelyboy, so what is your gpa? I'm confused from all these posts.

I think people are making it look harder than what it really is. My school isnt really big and we have about 5-10 people each year going to michigan. We had like people with 24 act that got admitted.

i have a question about um's SAT score. their average mid 50% SAT is like 1220-1300(CR and M) out of 1600. do they just look at CR and M's composite score or do they look at each individual score? for example, if i score 800 on M but only 450 on CR, what would they consider this?

psp: They generally look at the overall composite (out of 2400), unless you are applying for something like engineering, in which case they will look at your math score more deeply.

Bobby- you will more than likely get in :)
