GoBlue: Thank you for the correction, I read it as "4HL", and stopped there, so I thought he'd only taken 4 honors courses. Thanks though!

jessie: I would put you at a solid match, the only thing that might earn a defer/waitlist is that you submitted your app pretty late (if you submitted it w/in the last 2-3 weeks). But if I were the adcom, I'd want you!

I have a question. If you take only honors throughout high school, maybe one or two AP's how will UM look upon that? (Assuming that the high school DOES have AP's available)

awesome: I'd put you at a slight reach, bc of ACT. You are in-state though, which will help your chances significantly. I think you are also a slight reach bc you applied pretty late in the process (assuming you applied w/in the last few weeks). But I know of people IS who were admitted this yr with sub-25 ACTs, so it can happen! Good luck!

Cherry: If you are applying as an art major, I don't know how to evaluate that. But as for general LSA, your stats are all very good, so I'd put you at a solid match. :)

superchode: Great stats, ECs, etc. You look like just the person Michigan is looking for! I'd say you have a 75%+ chance of being admitted.

sleepy: Like all elite universities, Michigan is looking to see how students challenged themselves w/in their available environment. It would have been best for you to take the most difficult courses possible (e.g. APs), but they will look at you compared to the top course loads in the school and make a decision.

svg: no idea, sorry. I believe there is a thread on here for deferred people, you may want to check that. good luck!

mao: I don't see how you would not get in. I think Mich is definitely a match, probably honors and scholarships. Good luck!

Green: I think you are a solid match. When did you apply? If if was recently, you might be at a disadvantage, but I still think you're in. Hopefully those essays were good too lol! Go Blue!

Well there are people on here with far lower SATs getting in with 3.2s, so I wouldn't worry so much about that (esp. bc you have taken a very rigorous course load, and bc your hs is very competitive). OOS--if you add to the diversity of the campus, don't worry too much about it. With all those things, I still think you're a solid match (and I'm pretty honest lol). Just out of curiosity, which hs do you attend?

[ *] Other Factors/questions: I got suspended for slapping a friend in the face (it blew way up & out of proportion)(obviously quite stupid of me but I hope this doesn't affect me too much)

jeff: I think you're a high match/low reach, because you are international and applied late in the process. However, I'd lean more towards you getting in, at the worst I'd guess waitlist, unless your essays are poor.

Uniguy: I agree with j89, low GPA and avg./slightly sub-avg. GPA could hurt. Great essay could save that though perhaps, along with awesome letters of rec.

jcrew: I would say Michigan is a safety (if there is such a thing), but that suspension makes things a little more complex. Depends on how they interpret it, and how your counselors relate the incident. If they view it as a stupid mistake that won't happen again, you should be fine. If they look at it as abuse and have concerns about it re-occuring and becoming a bigger deal-that's a great reason to reject an otherwise superb applicant.
