Yep, good point.

I personally spent nearly 30 bucks sending everything from SSRs to Teacher Recs certified mail. My teachers said as long as I paid the $4.42 for the postage and certification, they'd do the work, and have the card sent back to the school. All of it was sent -- except one that never really was signed. Ah well.

I never knew a cover letter was a good idea. Oh well.

Well, I'm worried my ACT score didn't get there, because when I clicked the button to send, I got a "Action Cancelled, Refresh" Page. I refreshed, and under the summary it didn't list any schools.

I'm worried College Board didn't send my SAT scores from October in time, because that was the only time I sent in scores from the SAT.

I'm worried we were supposed to send in AP scores.

I'm worried on Nov. 3 we won't know who the president is (I digress).

i totally can relate netshark.

i'm more nervous about nov. 3rd than december 15th by a MILE.

1) I'm worried the Kyoto Protocol was a bad essay 2 topic
2) I'm worried that a 680 on Math IIC will make my 800's and 790's on other tests look like flukes.
3) I'm worried that the admissions officers will think 20 hrs/wk on one extracurricular activity is a lie, when in reality it's just an average (anyone who has done forensics knows how much time a tournament week takes!)

What is a cover letter? enlighten me, please!

Yeah, what IS a cover letter? After hearing what all you guys put in your applications, mine seems like a frickin' skeleton.

Can someone just quickly list out all of the things that were NECESSARY to include in your application? If I can just see a list and be able to check off everything I needed to put in, I'll feel much more at ease.

Thanks!

Part I, Part II, SSR, Teacher Rec (1)

That's all that's necessary. And your two essays, by the way.

And if you IM me at my AIM ... I'd be glad to tell you what a cover letter is :-P.. Or I'd just like to chat :-P

LOL sure. Tomorrow, though, b/c I'm going to sleep now. Soooo tiiiired... :o

wow i love how i can make people feel better:

amybronte ur complaining about a 680 on MATH
try 570 ont he math IIC

my writing score is 730
and my US history score is 760

Don't worry about the essay TOPIC, worry about your PASSION. i'm kinda mad at myself for choosing a "safe" topic...i didn't pick one was i overly passionate about though there are plenty.

just tell us what a damn cover letter is, already :)

I feel good about my essays so not a problem-- after all, I had an English genius look over them

and I sent my app all in one packet, definitely shouldn't be a problem as it will arrive all together

but for Chrissake, why hasn't my lazy interviewer contacted me??

LOL, babybird.

A cover letter: A letter addressed to the admissions people that they are theoretically supposed to read before anything else. What's actually written in it varies, but possibilities include: A self-introduction, a list of what's in your application packet (for example, if you included supp. writing samples or letters of rec. you might mention that), why you like the college, what attracted you to the college, if the college is your first choice ("If accepted, I will attend _____ University" sort of thing), anything important about yourself that you didn't fit into the app/essays, etc.

I'm just ****ed because GTown IS my first choice, but since I didn't include a cover letter, they have no way of knowing that. ARgh.

LOL I can't believed my extremely mild cuss word got starred. I feel so rebellious.

:P

eh, if you do EA, they have a good idea it's your first

OK, I was just contacted by my interviewer, good stuff

but bad stuff: on my little card I received, I looked at my Gtown ID. And it was DIFFERENT than the one I put on my ENTIRE APPLICATION. Oh, crap.

-worried that my essay #2 didn't completely answer the question
-worried how my grades will look (math and sci are higher than hist. and eng even though I'm applying to SFS)
-worried about recommendations - I need to make sure she sent them!

BUT, the things I know went well:
-Essay #1
-Interview

ahh! can't wait until Dec. 15th. If I don't get in early, I better get deferred otherwise I might go insane, lol.

you can't be denied EA at Gtown

...kind of a mixed blessing.

I definitely agree calidan.
