The One College Advising book you would recommend

Thanks dudecollegeguy, that site is good along with UNIGO.

I did go to my library and check out some other books and Acing the College Admission can be read as a sneak preview at Amazon, which I reviewed and bought for 1 cent. The shipping is $3.99.

SamuraiLandshark - My son recently received a mailing from Wesleyan U that featured an interview with Jordan Goldman who is an alumnus of theirs. I fell in love with his website last year when I first started looking at schools. I had no idea it was started by a college kid. I should’ve guessed

I’ve mentioned this book a gazillion times, and it turns out one of our very own cc’ers was an editor at one point. My kids found the Yale Daily News’ Insiders Guide To Colleges the absolute best book to give a real feel for what it is like to be at the school from the students perspective. Sorta like a Fiske Guide written by the students. A new deition is published annually- so dont buy a used/old one
Go to amazon to see it-- Here’s a description as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Insider’s_Guide_to_the_Colleges

The Yale Insiders Guide was both my oldest kids’ favorite book and probably the only one they ever cracked open. They both also read and re-read the Baud guide on essay writing.

LOL! I *JUST lent our copy of Bauld’s essay writing book to a friend this morning. My s didn’t really look at it much. Both my s’s LOVED Yale’s Insider’s guide. Are we related, momofthreeboys???
