There’s nothing wrong with summer session, and it can be a huge asset if you know how to use it.

You take two classes. Do well in those classes and go into Fall with a 3.5 or 4.0 GPA. If you then apply for internships/Co-ops (internship hiring is in the Fall and they are looking for freshman), you’ll have a massive, massive advantage over the other freshman, who can only try to differentiate themselves based on high school grades. You’ll get the “best” interviews (GE, Google, Microsoft, Disney, etc.). Get hired by one of those companies and if you’re a good employee, they’ll keep bringing you back for future semesters and will ultimately hire you, regardless of GPA (as long as you keep it reasonable). You’ve now parlayed a summer session A (which isn’t that hard) into one of the most coveted jobs at GT.

Of course you can waste it: A 3.0 or 2.5 summer GPA won’t differentiate you in the Fall, and if you don’t interview in the Fall, you can waste your 4.0 or 3.5 from the summer. So keep on top of your grades and visit the Division of Professional Practice early to learn about how to get in the interview system for Fall.

Scores not my strongest, but I’ve worked really hard for years in the field I want to go into, which definitely helps. I’m not sure where I’m going yet (Tech is the first school I’ve heard back from), but I really like Tech!
Congrats to everyone else that got in, and good luck to everyone on the wait list! :D

Decision: accepted - Summer Session.
In state resident. Applied for Computer Science major.
1880 SATs (640 math, 640 writing, 600 crit)
All A’s entire school carreer (so many 4.0+ weight/unweighed? don’t know whcih). Dual enrollment this year, last semester got all B’s.
Bad amount of EC’s. Did math club for 3 years, National honors 1 year, tennis 1 year, spanish club 1 year… so-so.
Idk about essays.

look at that, people with 1900 SAT are getting accepted and this year even the 25th %tile went to 2000+…+ common app boosted their applications (by as much as 3000), recon the SAT for our class will easily go past 2100 (25th %tile).
HOPE I GET IN :-D

Dude the average SAT last year was 2155 (they do some weird ACT SAT combination crap) so this year it will probably be 2200. Saying that the 25% will be 2100 is a little stretch, maybe 2080 will be right.
