Ok, guys this was second to last school and it was a cold short rejection email...ouch! I hate rejection in all forms although I must say I was expecting it and by no means had my hopes up. My stats were low for GW, just that I had legacy from my grandfather, which these days means diddly squat. I wish you all the best of luck with your future, where do you think you will decide to go?

Me:
Indiana, Kelly school of Business
Bentley College
Michigan, Ann Arbor

I will definitely be attending University of Maryland, College Park~!

the more i think about it, i guess i'd pick MD anyway b/c of the cost. 50K at DC or about 10k instate ... both in the 50s rankings... HMMM. MD herei come :)

one small footnote, I found the rejection email, which is so impersonal to start with short, cold and too vague for such a weighty message that it is delivering. I mean most schools really go on to wish you all kinds of luck, make you feel like at least had a chance and furthermore, ALL of them at least from my humble experiences, go on to mention that they would be happy for you to consider them for transfer and go on to give a little info. Disappointed for sure in how they handled this, even more than the rejection itself! Anyone else pick up on this?

Rejected. Along with Vassar and Northwestern.

Stats: 1780 SAT, 24 ACT, 3.87 (W) GPA, belonged to ecs (choir, improv) for a long time, tutored homeless children, worked part-time at a news station.

Looks like I'm going to AU. They gave me good financial aid anyways.

me 1190 original sat, and on the new one, 1780 it sucks i know. My gpa i am not sure about cuz we don't do gpa but i am a strong B student from a very strong private school, good ec's and good rec's as far as i know.........oh well their loss!

oh you bet i picked up on it. I got some rejection letters from schools that offered me summer programs, transfer opps, etc. I couldn't believe this letter. kelly i think you'd be happy at indiana, my friend goes there. i think i'd pick indiana over gwu if i applied

i was rejected too! ehh...whateve...lol 48k a year didnt sound so appealing to the rents, and kelly, i totally agree, e-mail was way to short and cold.

Damn. I thought that they'd at least look past my mediocre grades to see the level of my essay/SATs/etc. But...I guess not.

makemehappy you have great stats i know two who got in early with far lesser stats, don't sell yourself short. I am actually going to shoot her an email to tell her how I found the email so impersonal, cold and blunt, nothing sensitive in the least and to tell her many felt the same. I think they need to know, even at my biggest reach school, the way they let me down left me with a lot of respect for the institution, but GW, has really turned me off. Have to let my gramps know so he will think twice about his small donations.

conjeilatiy, yeah i am seriuosly considering IU, i have really heard such great things across the board about it, that I am leaning towards it at this point and if I don't like it could always transfer but i heard their transfer rate is exceptionally low, a testament to their high student happiness ratings, how about u?

well tabla you have some great choices, Bu being one of my personal choices. Fordham just doesn't seem to be in the same league, I know so many who used it as a safety but in fairness I don't know much about it. Lets face it, this year the rules literally went out the window! A girl in my french class who is polish got rejected from BC AND NORTHEASTERN, FOUND OUT SHE GOT INTO HARVARD! The only one from my school that i know of who did, go figure!

Expected it....still waiting on decisions though. I might stay in-state for college (Texas) UT but I would love to go out of state.

Got rejected by American (didn't expect that one) and GW. In regards to the e-mail, it was very short and cold but perhaps their actual letter in the mail will be worded better. I have seen too many rejections in the past week! (ENOUGH ALREADY!) I look foward to (hopefully) hearing some acceptances from my last 3 remaning schools out-of-state.

Good luck to all of you! and of course congratulations to those that were accepted to GW!
