i have dos questions, it'd be nice if someone could answer them!
1) How does national merit work for the PSAT? i just know for my state, california, one would have to get a 220 or up for semifinalist. what happens after that? =]

and 2)! are there any good books to study/take practice tests for the PSAT? Or should i just keep studying from SAT books. =]

A thousand thanks. <-- LMAO
CeilingFanFly

P.S. somehow while writing, i turned this into a letter. elegant eh? =]

Hi there! First off, chill out! It’s really not that big of a deal

  1. National Merit is a really competative scholarship that is a huge honor to get. The scores are based roughly so that if you add a 0, you would have an approximate SAT score. It’s divided into 3 sections like the SAT. A score above a certain amount will qualify for national merit semifinalist, and a lower national score is a commended student. A semifinalist is 1 out of the top 16,000 scorers. After that, the top 16,000 fill out a form, write an essay, and submit their SAT scores. 15,000 will be chosen. Right now we are waiting until February when we will learn who the 15,000 finalists are. Scholarships are then given out.
  2. I honestly just did SAT books. It’s roughly the same format, and I did well (semifinalist). It also helped then for the SAT.
    Good luck on Wednesday!

Haha thanks for replying!
