There is no such thing as a perfect applicant.

Thanks a lot.

The idea of the thread is to see everyone’s take on the perfect applicant, be it fictional or not.

4.0 UW GPA, 2400 SAT, published in The Paris Review and Science, an Intel winner, at least 12 AP courses and 4 courses taken at a Public Ivy in senior year. Also a varsity sports person, first in some states final thing. I don’t anything about sports.

I don’t know, what’s the point of this thread? I don’t get how this is helpful to anyone at all.

^ it’s for fun. oh and don’t forget that he/she has to be a minority :P

^Don’t forget he/she speaks English, Spanish, Chinese and Farsi. She took a class in African languages just for fun as well.

^ and he/she came close to curing cancer but accidentally solved the issue of world hunger…

He is… the most interesting man in the world.

This is silly and a waste of time. I’ll indulge you anyway, though, by telling you about the best real life applicant I’ve known. 4.0 UW, 18 APs, 17 5s, one 4, ACT 35, SAT 2s 780, 790, 800, president of an active NHS, Natl AP Scholar junior year, State AP Scholar senior year, received a national award for his independent CS project. Also a highly recruited athlete.

Child of the person occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. They get in everywhere!

applicant beat up chuck norris. :)

She also needs to be incredibly well rounded, culturally too…Miss Teen USA and breathtakingly beautiful. Walks on the runways of Paris Fashion Week. Uses salary from modeling to feed the hungry/shelter the homeless. CEO and founder of some successful, lucrative business people will feel dumb to not have thought of. Musical virtuoso. Principal dancer and prima ballerina assoluta. Paintings/sculptures/photography/art hung in international galleries. Published novelist/poet/essayist. etc etc.

He can speak french… in russian

He/she can fly without a leg and run without a neck.

2300+ / ranked 1 or 2 / one incredible EC / well rounded (lame leadership/athletics/clubs, nothing special)

Pretty sure that’s all it takes. Anything incredible works.

^you probably just described about 50% of HYPS’s acceptances…

^exactly .

^ Yes, but it probably also describes a lot of HYPS rejects.
