to apply?
If I'm applying ED and the deadline is nov.1, how late is too late/how early is too early? What about the regular Jan. 1 deadline?

bumpppppppppppppppppp please just a short reply would mean the world to me

in my mind there is no too early. too late, i'd say, would be a any less than a week before the deadline, just so you have time to breathe and don't stress and mess it up at the very last moment.

I don't think the schools mind if you submit your application early. They just open a file and starting entering the various pieces of the app as they come in. Even if you get your part in early, they may not receive the counselor's information until closer to the deadline. If you are completely satisfied with your essays, etc. there is no harm in sending the application early; that doesn't mean they will read it early, though.

If the ED deadline is Nov. 1, then one minute into Nov. 2 is too late. Meet the deadlines.

Yep. And it does NOT hurt to apply early even for RD colleges you are applying to ...and CERTAINLY for any rolling admissions schools. Why? The early bird gets the worm on scholarships and financial aid. Also, schools like BC openly say, "we will NOT have the time to give to your application if you apply on the last day it is due. Apply early and your application will receive its full due review." Heed their warning!

So basically I should just try to get my application in as soon as possible and before the deadline?

in so many words, yeah :)

My kids have 4 or 5 apps in; all but their ED's! haha

No sense waiting, especially to any college with rolling admissions.

haha thanks flybyzephyr (that took me like 2 minutes to type lol) and everyone else who replied!
