Hi! I have a question about TPAP, for anyone who knows people who have attended.
I’ve heard so many great things about it, but I didn’t know if the people who say that are referring to the 3 week program (Panorama), or the 2 week program (Blueprint). I’m a 17 year old current junior, and I would love to further my technique and training with an advanced/rigorous program. I am definitely on a budget, though. I’ve already digitally applied to TPAP, but I’m just trying to figure out which program I could do.
I noticed on the website, that the 2 week program offers less classes than the 3 week, which has many electives you can choose from. So, I just wanted to make sure the 2 week program was still just as good, or if the hype TPAP receives is only for the 3 week program. If it is mainly Panorama that people really love and seem to grow from, I’ll try to find a way to help finance that with my family. But, if the 2 week program is just as revolutionary too, then I know I’m good to go. Basically, I’m just wondering if the 2 week program is still worth it, because its very important to me. Hope this makes sense and thank you!
My D attended the Blueprint program last year, and felt like she got a lot out of it. My understanding is that Blueprint has more of an emphasis on college auditions and Panorama may be a little more artistically focused. She was accepted to both last summer, but there was no way we could fund all five weeks, so she chose Blueprint to help prep for the audition season. I know it exposed her to a lot of colleges, some of which made her audition list and some did not, and helped a lot with her comfort level in working in a master class and audition environment.
I believe last year may have been the first year for Blueprint, so most of the comments you hear will be based on the original three-week program. However, I think with the division last year it changed the format of both programs. Originally I think the college audition material was covered to a somewhat lesser extent in the program and by separating into two sessions they were able to add more to both.
I concur with everything @KelviVan said. My D attended last summer, the first year of Blueprint.
My son is going to be an intern for Blueprint & a student (attendee) for Panorama. He was part of Company 3 & still says it was life-changing! He’s thrilled to be going back and as an intern to boot. From his convos with staff, he’d concur with the above comments that Blueprint will focus on college audition prep & working on skills. It will have shorter days than Panorama (starts later, finishes earlier). Panorama is about developing your art. Still focuses on skills, but pushes the creative ‘outside the box’ kind of work. Either would be beneficial… depend on what you’re looking to get out of the experience.
