The Phantom Of The Opera

I loved this movie so much, has any of you guys seen the show on broadway or in London or anywhere else? I might have a chance to see the broadway show if they still have any tickets left with an affordable price this weekend. Yeah, I am going to NYC!

The show is absolutely fabulous, I've seen it twice, once in Boston and once in Hartford. The music is beautiful, it's the same as the movie though, I assume you know. It's definitely worth seeing if you have the chance because it's simply a beautiful musical. I like Movin' Out better, though it's a completely different type of musical and I'm biased.

I have to say, the broadway show was amazing, i saw it when i was in eighth grade as part of the class trip to nyc. havent seen it since, but it was an amazing show. i think ill see the movie once these damn finals are over. lol

Phantom of the Opera on stage is much much much better than the movie. Ive seen the show 4 times, (fifth time this saturday the national tour). If you liked the movie, you will be blown away by the show.

movin' out....no comment =P

The show is even better than the movie was. I particularly liked the show's ending. I didn't like the movie's end nor did I like that awful song that played during the credits. Why there's a country & western song at the end is beyond me.

I didn't really like the movie.... I had higher expections.

But that Phantom was hot with the mask on.

He wasn't just hot with it on, he was hot with it off, IMO, he wasn't nearly deformed enough.

The movie was great, and this is coming from somebody who saw the show at Broadway back in '99. We must all bow to the power of the music of the night =P

It is definitely a must see if you enjoy opera live. I saw about 2 years ago in Boston... I even liked it (I usually don't like performances) so that says something.

I like the songs. I basically grew up with POTO because my mom liked Sarah Brightman in '87 and always listened to opera.

the movie filled my expectations...as well as the show, but the music is much better live in a theater

Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford's voices are better than Emmy Rossum and Gerald Butler's. But we need some young, beautiful, sexy, handsome, and gorgeous faces to make a movie.
Again, is there any possibility for me to get 2 tickets for this Satureday's show in NYC with reasonable price? The cheappest I can find so far is around $150. And 99% of the seats are sold out already.

I love Sarah Brightman's voice. I wish I could've been at the original London production.

But I have seen it on Broadway, and it was as magnificent as I'd anticipated it to be. I got so hooked on the musical that that summer when I went to California, I bought a Phantom of the Opera music box that plays "Music of the Night".

And I just saw the movie this past Sunday! It was beautiful as well, and I loved the way the filmmakers made the transition between the "present" (meaning the auction at the beginning) and the past. I must agree with people who have said that Gerard Butler was rather striking as the Phantom...perhaps too striking.

I was also originally planning on watching the musical again in Boston at the Opera House June 4th, after my chem SAT II (as a sort of reward). Unfortunately, the June 4th showing was cancelled (as well as the others after May 22nd). I must say I was rather disappointed.

Find out all sorts of information about POTO on phantomoftheopera.com, they have a lot of interesting discussions.
