Also, if you're pretty enough, you might get a button

ha ha. okay, I know I sound ridiculous, but I honestly want to know what they use it for. I mean, do i just send them my senior portrait? or a casual pic.? ahhhh!

is that appearance thing really true? cuz i know collegeboard lies sometimes

I asked about the photo during an info session and they said the main reason is because after reading so many essays, the pic helps them remember that each app is a person. Also, if you're accepted the dean sees the photo or something, and therefore can identify you right away once you arrive.

I know that's what they tell us soundistheoword, but honestly d you think the dean will remember that many ppl? i doubt it.

I think it's a nother way to get around the race thing and maybe an appearance thing. I'm not three million percent sure on the appearance thing though because I'd say only about half the ppl are attractive there...you know?

hah - I highly doubt every student is remembered. but I think it makes the connection easier for the dean. and I'm friends with someone who is a freshman this year and she said that the dean knew her name and her roommate's when they were moving in, so there's at least some validity to what they say.

they analyze your facial structure and facial muscles tensions using a computer algorithm and determine a "ugly/hot" score.

"they analyze your facial structure and facial muscles' tensions using a computer algorithm and determine a "ugly/hot" score."
hahahahahaha

About remembering people: I was with a friend once watching Improvidence perform during one of their long shows, and an admissions officer came just to watch for a moment and actually recognized my friend and made it clear that he remembered his essay, despite never having met my friend.
