With regard to frequently repeated questions, maybe CCs needs Admissions FAQs and FA FAQs, if it doesn’t already have them. So, the old-timers could just refer newbies to the FAQs.

In my work, when we teach seminars, we often get requests for help that are the equivalent of the following: “I decided to drive through Death Valley today but was in a rush and I didn’t have time to fill up my tank or pack water. My cell phone ran out of power and now I’ve run out of gas. If you are any good, tell me how solve my problem with no inconvenience, fuss or muss.” Before I address this, I say, the real lesson is that you shouldn’t have ended up there and we need to put in place a planning process that prevents that from happening the next time.

I think the tone of mockery may come when people who post the admissions or FA Stranded in Death Valley request for help even though on CC (and in many other places), the preventative steps are readily available.
