SAT will let students pick which scores to show colleges - Los Angeles Times

comments?

i am personally pretty ecstatic about it because i can now comfortably take it multiple times, and send the best score to colleges.

lol wow, they did away with score choice in '02 and just 6 years later they recant…pathetic

it is for marketing.

1.5 milllion SAT tests were taken last year, while 1.3 million ACT tests were taken. since ACT testing was catching up, the SAT peeps thought that allowing students with the opportunity to take the SATs an unlimited amount of time will provide them with more $$$$$, like wat the ACT peeps have been doing.

I kind of agree with the critics. I think the only people this helps is people who can afford to take the SAT 4, 5, 6 times or more.

yeah but i think i saw that financial aid will be offered to those who need it, so in the end, it benefits all.

Yeah but what about people who can’t afford to take the test more than a few times, but don’t qualify for financial aid.

Which ever way you look at it, it helps those who can afford it multiple times.

Does it really matter? Why is everyone making a big deal out of it? Acting like their now released from prison. Jesus, you’ll still have to study for it..
“the power is in our hands now.”
Ok… the power is surely in your hands, hope you can now get a perfect score buddy.

QFE. 10chars

hahaha@artofmind_21

it is pretty good news for me considering i was dumb enough to sign up for the SATs freshman year and score a 1730.

@poseur, wats qfe?

^^ Quoted for emphasis. (I think.)

rohin, “Quoted for Emphasis”

Yeah, quoted for emphasis.

I know that I’d be na

wow, i just found out that for those aiming at top schools (i.e. me), those top schools can still make you turn in ALL your scores. this is what it says on the college board website.

-Students will be instructed to follow the different score-reporting requirements of each college to which they apply.

i guess it was too good to be true…

I know a few schools I’m aiming for are looking at the writing score, but will superscore everything.

I think some people paid minimum wage will prepare all the files in a database for the admissions officers to look at condensed.

^ Yeah I don’t find this as much of a problem anymore since a lot of schools are superscoring. Honestly, I don’t see the point in taking the real test more than 3 times. Practice tests should give you a rough estimate of your score…just don’t take the test if you’re not prepared or at the level that you want to be.

I am so happy about this… it just makes everything so much easier.

I thought this thread was gonna be about the proletariat revolution.
