The power of Ti-89 in Math2C

i hear people saying "i did so bad on this math2c test..but i didnt have Ti-89, so thats my excuse...."..
wat advantes does 89 have over other versions.?? like 83,84..?

I used an 84 (same thing as 83 but faster I believe) and did very well. To my knowledge the 89 does equation solving and some other nifty features that may be helpful, but nothing that is essential with a solid foundation in mathematics.

I didn't really rely on my TI-89 that much. It was very useful, but you don't need it to get a good score. I only used the solve() function a few times.

Lol! I used a Scientific Calculator and still got an 800. Just like it says in the PR practice book, all you need is a $10 calculator that has the basic functions and you'll be good to go...

The Ti-89 is good for saving time on some questions where you need to solve for x. Even then though, it's not going to guarantee a good score obviously. I used it and got a 610...

I got an 800 with a TI-84. Hell, I hardly used the calculator at all, it's a lot faster to work things out by hand and only use the calc for plugging things in.

there is a solve function on the 83 and 84 if you know how to use it. I find that most people dont know half of what their calculator can do. Adding programs to it (ticalc.org is a wonderful source) can also add a bunch of features to your calculator, making it comparable to the 89. This includes easier to use equation solvers than the built in function the 83/84 offers, and perhaps the most useful is triangle solvers, so you dont need to memorize laws of sin/cosine

Soo... would you be kind enough to enlighten me on how to use this solve button?
Please? ^_-

Ur, you really don't need a good calculator for the test. It's moreso a crutch than anything, though I guess if you're stupid but good with calculators, MAYBE it would help?

I got an 800 with my 84 halfway through sophomore year precalc. Srsly, you DON'T need 3 years of high school math, CB. >O

well thanks alot for u r inputs.!!
i have math2c in a week...nov 3
ive been practicing with barrons(i know this is harder than the actual one).
and princeton review...i did a practice test in pr and got an 800 first time.
do u think ill be good for the real one this saturday? im kinda nervous...lol
