The Prediction List

I'm at Emory. Why was this thread started and why did you post on it if you didn't expect other people to add comments? I'll tell you right now - Columbia is not going to accept everyone on that list, like you all seem to think. If it does, then that's extremely lucky and rare. I used Columbia's statistics and my own personal opinion to choose the people, and it's strictly that - my personal opinion. I don't think just because I was rejected that I can particularly gauge the decisions, and I definitely did not reject people because I was rejected. If I was bitter about my rejection, I would have rejected nearly everyone - but I didn't. I in fact accepted more people than Columbia's actual ED acceptance rate.

silver_wavez - I definitely did not do this out of pity because I did not read ur posts in which you said that you were sad, I just submitted this list this morning and did not get past the second page.
I wrote these predicitions based on what I and other people in my school think are the best credentials for acceptance. Columbia and a lot of colleges want diversity, students from other countries (even though ur IB) especially ones with ur grades are likely to get accepted (I think so).

im_collegebound, you can instant message me: Cormeister37

Since ur at Emory - what do you think my chances are of getting accepted to the Scholars Program because I applied for it. I did visit - I liked the campus a lot but the surrounding area wasn't that great.

alright copper.. fair enough...
good luck to u then..
emory is good.. why do u not like it there?

"(even though ur IB)" - what do you mean by that?
well thanks anyway rushin... u put a lil smile on my face.
good luck to u as well! :) cheers mate!
o and whats ur aim sn?

Are you actually from Singapore or are an American studying there under the IB program because that makes a difference.

Ugh, Emory. My mom used to work there.

Ugh, Atlanta.

I'm a Korean who's living in Singapore..

O ok then that is good, my decision stands.

cool cool. are u on aim?

yea - beardedrunner

there was a reason I didn't put my name on that list. I'm waiting for columbia to make that judgement when the time comes, not a bunch of high school students. No offense guys I love you :) but you aren't qualified to decide whether or not I get into columbia. I think this board should be more about support than anything, not predictions.

yup.. sam's right!

If you got REJECTED, why would anyone want to listen to you? lol.

Everyone is so damn serious, calm down.

Another thing, none of these people read our applications, sat through our interviews, or saw each and every grade we got in our classes. So why does it matter?

Exactly, why does it matter? Hence, why are you getting so bent out of shape about a thread that you CHOSE to participate in?

lol this is why i did not participate. it doesn't matter what anyone says. it's not over till it's over! i'd be worried even if everyone said i was guaranteed acceptance.

would it help if I said i got national merit scholarship commendation letter, sent art portfolio (i've been taking high school art course since 8th grade..) can (sorta) sign language, the reason why i couldn't really participate more in clubs is because i gotta work at my parents' store almost every day...which leaves me only little time study and virtually impossible to participate in after-school activities..but i've managed to hold 2 leadership positions in before-school clubs..one of them was about to disappear because there were about 5 people in it but i've made that club work by holding school's first multicultural fashion show & food day....and i've won school budget for that club...and mentioned them in interview.......ooph...i sound desperate.........................................

chill out guys....
