The prestigous consulting firms

I've always heard of the "Big 4" or "Big 5" or "a" Top Consluting firm.

Which ones are they?

Wal Mart, Target, McDonalds and Burger King.

Don’t forget Wendy’s and Tacobell.

Come on guys

mckinsey/bain/boston consulting group are the big 3

check vault’s guide.

The big 4 are accounting firms. They used to be the big 8…later big 5…Arthur Anderson went bye bye because of Enron, and they became the big 4.

The top management consulting firms are McKinsey, BCG, and Bain.

I’m really interested in working for Bain - what are there possibilities. What should one study/major in during college to get a job with Bain? What are there positions for grads just out of college?

Thanks

Why don’t you just go to their website, look for vacancies, and see what the requirements are?

If you’re deadset on working at Bains you should try to get a summer internship there if available.

I’ve worked quite a bit with McKinsey. They will hire people from many different majors because their practice covers a lot of different industries. I work in the financial industry, and two of the consultants I worked with graduated in pre-med. There’s a lot of discussion on how valuable an Ivy League education or other top college is on this board, and I am not usually a person who values prestige, but if you want to work for a consulting company like McKinsey, the name brand school is critical along with being one of the top students.
