The processes to become an architecture

Aloha,

I need you guys help to clarify some informations.
I am just an business student and looking for some infos for my nephew from Vietnam.

What is IDP? Do we really need to be a certified architecture to get a better job and better pay?

Can we just get the job by having a BA/BS in Arch? Or it has to be in BArch?

If I want to be certified, I have to take BA/BS in Arch then enroll in MArch or just get a 5 yrs BArch?

I start reading all these threads and so confused since Iam not familiar with this field.
Please help me to clarify.

Hallie

there are two ways to get licensed in architecture.

1) Get a BArch (5 year program)
2) Get a BS/BA in architecture w/ 2 year Master (MArch)
3) Get a BS/BA in something other than architecture w/ 3 year Master (MArch)

You also need to make sure the program is accredited by the NAAB
