The Quad and a 1596

My son will be a sophmore and the best lottery number for the 2 (or 3) who want to room together is 1596. They want to be in the quad pref McCormick, if not then Bruce.

He wants to know his chances, but did not feel like setting up his own account so asked me to ask for him.

Any idea?

Thanks

I’m going to be a sophomore next year and I’m shooting for the quad (I would prefer McCormick or Bruce but honestly Brackenridge is pretty much the same thing minus the kitchenette) and my number is 829.

I’m not an expert, but the lottery numbers go all the way above 5500. considering your son’s in the top third of the numbers, I think he has a pretty good shot at getting into at least his second choice. I mean, the Quad is really nice but I don’t think it’s in super high demand like the apartment-style Ruskin or Bouquet.

At least, I hope not.

My son stayed in Bruce for his sophomore several years ago. I don’t remember his group’s lottery numbers, but I do remember that all of the sophomores I knew got into the quad and Ruskin was only for grad and med students at that time. Son’s group even nearly got into Bouquet Gardens. Remember, quite a few sophomores move out of university owned housing, too. Unless things have changed a lot, I don’t think that it will be a problem.

I’m currently a sophomore in the Quad. My friend’s lottery number was pretty good, but I can’t remember what it was. Did he get his suite/apartment-style housing selection time yet from Panther Central? That will give him a good idea of what will be available.

My D and her group of current freshmen did not get a suite bid for next year. They are bummed and trying to figure out plan “B”. There are five of them that wanted to share a suite, now if they break into doubles someone is left out.

I’m staying out of it!

OK he just told me (after I asked) that he got a suite bid. So they have a suite just don’t know which one yet.

I am going to be a sophomore as well. My group (of 4) had a best lottery number of just over 1000. We didn’t expect to get Bouquet Gardens but were sure we’d get a suite somewhere…nope. We’re now trying to figure out what to do, as our 3 other numbers are terrible.

Maybe share an apartment? Start looking immediately, though.

Alterate thought: Could you all, upon request, get dorm rooms adjacent to each other? Certainly not the best option, but still an idea.
