How attractive are the gay men? lol is it easy to date someone from the same sex? Plus I read about Wesleyan's Queer Prom...do the straight guys really make out?

Well, like any large, diverse group of people, the gay men at Wesleyan look a lot of different ways.

In general, Wes is a place where queer sexualities are accepted and celebrated, so I think it's easier to be in a same-sex relationship here than almost anywhere else.

Can't tell you about straight guys making out... where did you read that?

Does anyone else get a "Real Jock" Gay fitness advertisement banner whenever they come into this thread either on the side of the screen, or on top? I find it very funny. I wonder if this is because of spyware, or if CC arranged it somehow. Either way, it is very smart advertising.

OMG i get that ad too!

Anyway, I don't think I've met a single heterosexual Wes Alum. No, that's a lie, I've met one. Which... idk, speaks for itself?

are there any gay wes men on this forum?

I think there is at least one-- showtunesguy?

There are plenty of heterosexual Wesfolk. There are also plenty enough non-heterosexual Wesfolk. You'll find dating options, no matter what your orientation here :P

As far as Queer Prom goes - that's one of the more mainstream (and a little crazier) queer-related parties. Lots of people in attendance there are very much straight. There are other parties on campus that serve more as meeting places for queer students on campus - from "gay boy parties" held every so often, usually at a gay senior's house, to parties thrown by Open House, a program house. You'll find whatever scene you're looking for, most likely :P

PS.
I will attest to the fact that straight men do, in fact, occasionally make out.

sounds cool...can you elaborate on the "gay boy parties" ? lol

I am a gay Wes guy, but apparently, LOL, I have a bad reputation in the queer community. :)

But seriously, I don't have beef with any gay men, to be 100% honest, so I was essentially just kidding. ;)

Anyways, the "gay boy parties" are awesome. There are a bunch of gay guys who get acquainted with one another, and it's very casual. I met a lot of guys there that I didn't know before. There was a projection screen in the living room of the senior's house this year playing popular music videos for people to dance to. As it was described to one of my friends by a heterosexual senior girl, it is "one of the best parties I've been to on campus in the last four years." The gay seniors here are so nice to throw this party.

Otherwise, Open House throws many killer parties. :) The music is great, and it's enjoyable as well. :)
As for the gay boys at Wesleyan, they are certainly very attractive and very kind, though I have to say that I kinda like dating older men, so they're not my cup of tea, as they're all a bit young for me, LOL. Nevertheless, the gay population certainly isn't lacking in terms of attractiveness, and neither is the lesbian population! I appreciate the fact that a queer community exists here, especially in comparison to my high school in NJ, which didn't necessarily have a high number of openly gay students, despite its liberal tag.

And yeah, I get a gay fitness ad as well. Then again, I get tons of gay ads on Facebook, haha! :)

Speaking of which, the gay party scene at Wes doesn't just cater to one style. You'll definitely be able to find gay men lounging around at many parties, and you'll be able to date easily here. I know that I had no trouble with dating last semester, though that quickly changed, haha. My friend who's a lesbian also had no trouble dating last semester. Dont worry about the queer community at Wesleyan. :) I love it!

I'm straight, and I think open house parties are great.
