The 'Quintessential' CWRU admittee

I am a current junior and I am looking to apply to Case come next school year. Those who are attending, are planning to attend or were admitted, could you share your overall profile? Thank you!

well, I wouldn’t say there is a quintessential cwru admitted student although all people admitted to case show a lot of interest. I was admitted ea this year and by no means did I think I was going to get in but what really helped was that I did my interview well before applying (sometime around the summer) and I attended a couple of virtual info sessions. I think that showing interest is key in being admitted and you have to show them that you really want to attend. my stats were nowhere near perfect (especially for the standards of case) but I definitely had an interesting story. I also applied for business which I am assuming is easier than applying for engineering or comp sci although they have an open-door policy so I don’t think that matters. They also practice yield protection so beware of that - if you are 100% sure if that is where you want to go and financials are not holding you back, apply ed it helps your chances greatly. Although I don’t think I’ll be attending because it is WAY too expensive for me, it is a great school no matter what.
Here are my stats:
Test optional
GPA: 94 weighted
Good recs
Multiple clubs with leadership positions, 100+ hours of volunteering, great essays, heavy spike in business with own start-up

I think you have really good stats and congrats on all of your achievements! I think you have a good shot but try to get a few leadership positions as that will really boost your application. If you go through the CWRU 20205 decisions you will see that many people similar to your stats got deferred from early action - most likely because of yield protection. If you really want to go, I encourage you to apply ED if you can and I can tell you with most of my certainty that you will get in.

Your stats look good. I was worried that I wasn’t going to get in because I showed absolutely no interest, but I got in EA. I think you should be good to go, but show some interest just in case.

Hope there weren’t any puns intended but thanks for the advice!
