I find it awful. Apart from being extremely disrespectful to Islam (what if it was the Bible being burned?), it also is going to **** us up even more in the middle east.

Eh, I’ll probably forget the day after. I mean it’s sad how radicals exist, but they do. They can never be eradicated either.

You forgot the biggest con- the killing of US troops and civilians because of this a**hole. Who cares if moderate Muslims and Christians’ feelings are going to get hurt, a bunch of innocent people are going to end up dying because muslim radicals will carry out retalitory terrorists attacks. This guy better be stopped, but he can’t be killed-at least not yet- because he doesn’t deserve to be seen as a martyr by anyone.

Hardly anyone would hear about it or care.

^That’s amusing/sad.

that’s facking hilarious. it made my day.

^LOL. Reminds me of this.

Update: Pastor Jones cancels the burning, claiming that the Imam in NYC agreed to not build the “mosque” near Ground Zero if he did so. The Imam claims that no such thing happened.

This pastor is delusional.

it is a mad ■■■■■■■■ thing to be doing, for ANY reason

I consider it a foolish thing to do, but he has every right to do it.

It is equivalently inappropriate as someone burning a copy of the Bible or the American flag. We do not stop people from doing these things, even though we should (particularly in the case of the flag, as it is a national symbol to be protected) so why should be grant extra protection to the Koran?

And, if their are people crazy enough to attack American interests and military personnel because of the actions of 30 people in Florida, they should already be labeled as our enemies and be dealt with accordingly. Appeasement is not a viable solution in any military conflict.

^Yes, I think that while he’s entitled to his right to free speech, the act doesn’t seem too morally acceptable.

Luckily it was canceled.

He does have every right to do it. I just read off my favorite rapper’s twitter that he can burn the book but he can’t burn Islam.

Seems like most people on High School Life are looking down on this guy. Not so much for the Parents’ Forum…

I think over time, as more resources become readily available to the people, we become open minded. Which could explain the parents forum response.

He’s not doing it anymore.

/convo

So not that all people become open minded over time, but that subsequent generations become more open minded?

Yes, that’s my belief. Though there are people in previous generations that do become open minded. I should do a survey on this and come up with some numbers and graphs.

If you did it over the course of 20 years, you could use the same subjects, as “generations” changed.
