The race box controversy.

<p>I am asian. But checking the box is optional, and probably leaving the box unchecked will give me a better chance. Also, you can't tell if I'm asian from my last name.</p>

<p>I'm seriously tempted to check "Other" and write in HUMAN!</p>

<p>What should I do?</p>

<p>I think they might react negatively to HUMAN! and if you have an interview they’ll be able to fill in the blanks… And since you’re leaving it blank they might assume Asian. I’d just check the box but idk</p>

<p>I’m half-asian, and I checked the “mixed race” box. Then again, it didn’t really matter because I talked to the admissions counselor and I knew I was getting into the college that I wanted anyways :P</p>
