Did anyone else try to start off completely emotionally-unattached going into this, but end up becoming obsessed with one school?

Um, yeah.

Freshman year, I went to the college fair, picked up pamphlets and went to HYP sessions. Didn't go to any type of Dartmouth session until my sophomore year, and then only because it was close to where my grandparents lived. Loved the info session, sent in an info request. Read and memorized the prospectus and the course guide. Visited two years ago and loved it to death, even though it was cold and muddy and it was spring break so the place was deserted. I did an alumni interview, applied Early, cried my eyes out when I was deferred. Did everything I could think of to get in. Will probably lock myself in my room and bawl when my thin envelope arrives.

Sigh. You just had to ask.

Okay, you're A LOT further along on the adoration than I am. Phew. Hopefully, you get in.
