Wake up kid, it's called PC. They say that because people like you would throw a fit if they said you weren't as impressive as the student's that were accepted.

last response;;;; if u try hard....meaning do ur homework...study for all tests... study for SAT... do ECs.. get Leadership..... nothing is a reach.... it's this american society full of lazy ppl..... who don't try......

[/quote]

So a junior will magically be able to up his grades, SAT, EC's, and become a leader before he applies? LOL, OK.

No one said that a school is a reach upon birth, they say that it is a reach based on what you have accomplished. Clearly you can't process reality.

Because you can't seem to read. We say something logical and you ignore it with magical voodoo lack of logic.

I tried putting it in a way that you might be able to understand, but obviously that is beyond hope.

Give it up, everyone. It's pretty obvious the OP won't listen.

Well said. GA, make sure you read this at least 3 times.

besides so many threads are boring... i like a little controversy...but it is all fun and games..... nothing too literal or serious...... watching ppl reach a breaking point is funny.... it's the internet... what can i say..

anyways/.... thanks all for ur comments/arguments.... i really don't care.... but we shall meet again... in another thread......i know we well ...lol

i actually do write some serious threads but i get like 0 to 3 posts.... the more catchy the title...and plot... the better

Now he says he wasn't being serious! Interesting way of admitting you were wrong.

And in the off-chance that you are actually being honest that you did this just to get responses, I pity you for having to make BS threads to get someone to talk to you online.

u ppl sleep eat and breathe this site.... i just can't help laughing.

Applying to a college takes resources: fees, time, mental angst. It's worth considering whether that investment has a likely potential of yielding a benefit, or if those resources should be spent elsewhere. Thus, while a student with middling grades, scores, and ECs is free to apply to Harvard, it's probably not a sensible expenditure of resources. While admission to top schools may sometimes look like a crapshoot because so many qualified candidates don't get in, that doesn't mean that unqualified candidates have a chance to get in. You might as well spend the admissions fee on lottery tickets--if you win, you can get in as a development case. This may seem cruel, but reality is cruel. And, while hard work is important, it is necessary, but not sufficient, for success in many areas. Success in a specific area (including admission to a particular college) may require hard work, but also innate talent, connections, and luck.
All that being said, always take anybody else's evaluation of your chances with a grain--or a pound--of salt.

When we do meet in that other fateful thread (and I wait in excitement), do you think you could improve your punctuation and spelling skills by then? As a college-bound student, those skills will prove invaluable. =)

You have 269 posts and you joined a little over a week ago. End of story.

^^ lol pwnt

I don't know about you, but I don't quite understand how one could "sleep" the site.

it's the internet puntucation doesn't matter.....i like my dots... and my no punctuation manner on CC. it's just "me".

but... if u learn... that # of post... is usually about 15- 20 post per thread. going back and forth and arguing. and if u check the timing... it's not in a long amount of time.... they are pointless post... continue w/ ur research on me... continue plz.

Five -- no, four more posts... and then your conjecture that dreams can happen will be proven true! (Or at least ours that college admissions is a crapshoot.) =]

are u at a college kyledavid?

I don't care how or when you post, the fact of the matter is you posted...oh 273 now... in a little over a week.

Ga-
It is not unusual to take a look at peoples past posts or posting history. That is why the information is available. Not sure why you are so defensive and confrontational. If you are going to make fun of the amount of time people spend on the site, and then average 32 postings a day, someone is likely to bring that to your attention as inconsistent.

Also, unless you want to ask the mods to take your thread down, you can't just announce that the thread is OVER. Besides, it is likely to cause someone to post something that may tempt you to post again, which unfortunately doesnt make you come out looking too good.

As well, discussing is reasonable, arguing and being a troll is just silly. If you want to, and enjoy arguing for the sake of arguing, go onto some of the political threads and have a good time. People just love to argue and get generally snarky there.

Oh, one last suggestion- if you post something really egregious, outrageous, abusive, insulting or inappropriate that is against the TOS, someone may report it to the mods-- that way you can also successfully close your thread, because if the thread just goes downhill, rather than trying to edit posts and warn posters who violate the TOS, they'll just trash the thread. I am not suggesting that you do this. I am just saying that if you really want the thread to disappear, that is one approach to take.

Gee, where'd everybody go??? I was hoping to get my post count up to 1900 after 3 years ;)
