The real college rankings

US news has so many flaws in its rankings. These are how the top 25 should be:

1) Harvard
2) Princeton
3) Stanford
4) Yale
5) MIT
6) U penn
7) Columbia
8) Cal tech
9) U Chicago
10) Berkeley
11) Brown
12) Cornell
13) Johns hopkins
14) Dartmouth
15) Northwestern
16) Duke
17) Rice
18) Emory
19) Wash st louis
20) Carnegie Mellon
21) UVA
22) Georgetown
23) Notre Dame
24) U michigan
25) UCLA

No Berkeley? Did I miss it?

wait, if the US NEWS has so many flaws .. what makes you think you can come up with better rankings. I am assuming you do not have any methodology and even if you do, i doubt it is better than the US NEWS. I do not agree with the US NEWS.. but this list seems to be your opinion.. not how the ranking SHOULD be. No one can justify how a ranking SHOULD be. Just for the record, i agree with your ranking more then the US NEWS. Still does not mean thats how the ranking should be.

Upenn shouldn't ranked higher than Columbia or Chicago or Caltech.

Duke is too low.

You put UVA over Michigan.(!?!)

Duke is not too low. it's academics are not as good as the other ones which i put higher. seriously, what is duke known for academically besides biology/pre-med?

And what are you basing all of this on? Just your personal opinion? Acceptance rates? What?

I think Vanderbilt should be there

Except that you can't rank schools as "the best schools," so the list makes no sense as it is. UPenn Wharton is the best undergrad business school in the country, MIT/Stanford are the top engineering schools, etc.

Uhh you dropped Duke and Wash U way too much and you put Berkeley way to high for undergrad. U penn should definitely be ranked higher than Chicago and should be tied with Columbia....

This is ridiculous and based on nothing.

This isn't undergrad, this is overall.

lmfao .

rankings mean nothing anyway, so with that in mind these are perfect.

Stop making nonsensical lists.

This looks like a list of what you think is the most prestigious to me...

This list basically is the USNWR rankings, except you don't like Duke, Vandy, or WUSTL, and you love Berkeley.

The "real" college rankings? um...okay. you could have just posted this as an "opinion" in another thread, instead of making a whole new one and attracting all this attention/criticism. adding a "IMHO" at the end would have been good as well.

Because those are academically weaker schools, and berkeley is a world renowned institution. of course it will be in the top 10.

Academically weaker by what standards?

That is one thing I agree with. People here don't like Berkeley because it is a public school, when, if you ask people around the world if they know what berkeley is, or what Duke is, The majority will know berkeley but not Duke.
