I've read many reviews, and have seen mixed opinions so I was hoping to get a few more!

Is it easy to make friends outside of school? I've read that most of the campus is upper middle class caucasian kids and it would be ideal to have more diverse friends.

How conservative are people? I'm the typical liberal young person and am really into social justice, but I heard the only think people talk about is outlawing abortion.

How is the campus social scene? I'm not into big parties, but I do want the occasional drink and what not...

Luckily it is Portland, so there are many more liberals than conservatives in the city, irrespective of the university. Despite the fact that I am definitely not a christian, I have in fact been to the campus for a short walk about and it is quite nice; although it is clear that the biggest plus is being located in Portland.

While I know next to nothing about UP or any christian school, I can vouch for the quality of the city you would live in, how ever much you value that.

What do you mean? I haven’t visited the campus, but I’ve heard its beautiful aside from most of the dorms needing cosmetic upgrades and that the surrounding neighborhoods aren’t that great.

I’ve only taken a couple day trips to Portland so I haven’t gotten “the full feel” of the city, but I’m from Seattle so I’m sure I’ll love it.
