the REAL early decision applicant numbers.

I think this might be upsetting, I have no clue where someone got 1100. I talked to an admissions counselor 5 minutes ago, the exact number is 1937. Yes, about 300 more than last year.

ALSO, if the online tracker doesn't show that your stuff is received, call them. They received a document of mine on Nov. 19th and still have not updated this on their site.

I hope this clears things up.

The admit rate (if they except the same number as last year) will be a little over 20 percent. So yay! Still a little more than RD.

so that means they went up like 19%? that can't be good

Did you talk to a Columbia Admissions Counselor?

Except last year's ED total was 1939. It actually went down by two whole applications. I don't know where you're getting these numbers.

I think you might be only thinking of Columbia College while the admissions officer gave you the figure for the entire undergraduate program at the University.

Yes sir. No, I told him specifically for Columbia College. This is accurate.

Hmmm, I first spoke to a counselor. Now I speak to an operator who tells me that they don't have the numbers compiled yet. WHAT IS GOING ON?!

lol...

Well if that figure is for CC, then... daaayum. Good luck guys ;p

Does Anybody Know The Number For Seas???

Or How To Find This (Besides Calling Them, Cause That Would Rude :))

haha i dont trust any of you guys - we'll see how things fly on friday

heh yeah, really...
does it even matter? we'll find out how it goes on friday =p

i guess not, but its only natural to reassure yourself with statistics. i'm so scared!

What number do I call to find this out?

212-854-2522

That's their office number, but who knows if those clerks know anything?

Ok, I just called.

"No, they have not been compiled. Decisions as well as application statistics will be known on Friday."

I called today, and the person who picked up said that he thinks the SEAS number was between 250 and 300

up from last year

the guy who told me about 1100, said that was for the college only.

It seems odd that the 'counselor' would give such a precise number, down to the ones place.

seriously... who cares what the admissions numbers are now. it is meaningless to debate. whether admission rates shot up by 8000% or went down by 10% will not matter now. the decision HAS been made. whether you are accepted, deferred, or rejected, you will know in 3 days.

The Decisions I Dont Think Have NECESSARILY Been Made Yet FOR EVERYONE. They Use All These Days. From The 1st To The 8th At Least, Im Sure.

"The admit rate (if they except the same number as last year) will be a little over 20 percent. So yay! Still a little more than RD."

how do you know all of this...
seriously.. i dont get this.
1937? suddenly a rise of 300 apps.. thats also inconceivable!

ok lets just wait guys... who cares how many applied.. its like less than 3 days till the decision. its out of our control neway.
ok yeh it will give us peace of mind.

but its better for us NOT to know how many people applied at this stage..... it'll get us even more nervous!!
