<p>University of Tennessee was around around 100 years before University of Texas. Also, Texas is a much larger state. Who’s to say UTenn couldn’t do the same if our state were just as large?</p>
<p>Either way, I refer to UTenn as UTK to differentiate from UTC and UTM, and of course UT-Austin. I don’t think it really matters</p>

Im going to go ahead and assume you are an Aggie, because TU has nothing to do with Texas.</p>
<p>Personally I think of Texas, but I also live in Texas and will be going there next year. A lot of people tend to throw Austin on the end to further specify.</p>
