The reason why people complain about CAL

I can pretty much sum it up.

Big 1- Professors don't like to give everyone A's like stanford does.
2- Transfers(Why accept so many transfers? Each yr, cal accepts 1/3 of Columbia undergraduate population)
3- "Dirtyness"

If those 3 are fixed, I am sure most of the students would not be complaining.

people don’t really complain about #1 and #2, lol.

Well there are other things, but what’s the point of this topic? Are you saying Berkeley should make these changes?

I don’t mean to sound general, but most of the people in Berkeley if not all seem to complain about #1 and #2. #2 doesn’t get expressed alot though in public.

Definitely not true. No one I know complains about transfers and I’m quite sure Stanford doesn’t give everyone A’s.

3 is somewhat true when you walk down telegraph ave

I’d say one of the largest complaints is that classes are huge and it’s impossible to get to know your professor (for those of us in lower-division classes).

people don’t really complain about #1 and #2. i’m sure the students at stanford earn their A’s like the students at Cal do. I agree with the above poster that its hard to talk to professors in the large lower divs but its much easier when you move on to the smaller upper div courses.
