waitlisted...

Me too! What percent chance do you think we have of eventually getting accepted?

i was just about to post the same thing. the waitlist brochure seemed semi-promising..at least the fact that 5-37 men were taken off the waitlist and accepted in the last 3 out of 5 years

the chances are probably about the same as normal admissions-although its tough to tell not knowing how many kids they put on the WL... it also depends on how they estimate their yield-if they are like many colleges (overly optimistic) there could be a number of open spots... who knos tho

i got waitlisted and im confused because im well above their SAT range. grrr this is so frustrating

"i got waitlisted and im confused because im well above their SAT range. grrr this is so frustrating"

You should've learned by now that where your SATs fall in comparison to their range means absolutely nothing. If thats all you base your application on, and all you're worried about, you may be having a few problems with other colleges too. UR obviously looks at more than just SAT scores and you yourself should be focussed on more than just SAT scores.

Anyways, I wish you luck at UR and at the rest of your colleges as well.

unnecessary? you can look at the rest of my stats if you want and see that im obviously not all about just SATs. that was a first reaction. go easy would ya

Sorry...didn't mean for it to sound bad but rereading the post it sort of did. Still, as I have learned and actually hope, its more than just stats.

S got accepted but not going, so hey, there's one spot open :)

why arent you going? i heard the tuition is super high now, raising it 22% and that its now about 43 Gs per year, is that why?

Son is not going to Richmond because they didn't give him any grants or scholarships, which means he might as well go to one of the other schools he's been accepted at, one is just as good and offered him a scholarship, the other is better but didn't offer him a scholarship (so he's no worse off there).

lol, i like how you refer to yourself as 3rd person, um, did your financial aid package come with the acceptance? and what is your EFC? and what other school do you plan on attending?

Not speaking in third person, am talking about my son (= S).

Actually I can picture my son doing that though :)

Yes, believe financial aid package for Richmond came at same time as son got his acceptance. Our EFC is more than the cost of attendance. He is leaning toward Wash U, waiting to hear from several other schools.

oh my bad. Well, Wash. U is way better than richmond! so your son will be in good hands wherever he decides to go to! good luck! i still havent heard anything from UR but i dont know if im going to attend...i need financial aid as well :( thats what i will be basing my decision on (who gives me the most $$) Once again, good luck :)
