you know how nyu on their app says you can pretty much write about whatever you want?

well i did. :)

i wrote about how i have become who i am and who influences me. it is a really strong essay . you guys think it is a good idea to not do one of theirs?

I didn't do one of theirs and I got in. I just randomly talked about my life and how I got where I am today.

I did my own too and got in!

I don't think it matters as long as it's good. Quality is more important than subject matter.

i heard nyu doesnt read the essays

^^^^

haha wouldnt be surprised

Yeah, I hear essays only help some ridiculous number, like 3% of applicants. I didn't answer one of their essays, actually, I wrote the opposite of one of their choices, about how the prompt was wrong, and I still got in.

^ I hope that's not true, with as much work as I've been putting into this silly essay

haha. screw the essay. just dont sound like you have a disease and youll get in if your sat and gpa are good

thats aweful if they dont lol

yeah, that would be pretty sad considering the amount of time people put into essays. i wrote on a completely different topic as well, and this piece is one of the best i've ever written - i am SO proud of it. well, i guess i'll just hope i am part of that three percent, because my gpa certainly won't get me in...
:)

^^^
well thats why i was so ballsy and submitted a different essay. it is incredible and pretty much details why i am unique, etc, etc. i have some cool stuff that i have done. i am very fortunate

wait wait is this NYU app or Common app?? so for NYU app there's no need to answer 4 questions?
