There should have been a rant thread in December for EA/EDers, but I was rejected at Stanford/ Yale and still a little bitter about it. I knew they were reaches, but it just sucks when those are the two schools that you absolutely loveeeeee. Waitlisted at Chicago so I have really no chance for my other reaches. I’ll be attending CAL or UCLA so, I’m already trying to transfer my obsession from S and Y to the UCs so that I’m not miserable the next four years. The only thing I can advice others is to let out the anger, pity, and feelings of unworthiness for a couple of days, but like Kanye ( bad example… I know but) said " anything dat don’t kill me, can only make me stronger". Look upon this rejection as a sign to be even more motivated to have a greater college experience.

I’m afraid I’m gonna post in this thread soon. Two rejections still sting after a week.

I’m sorry to everyone who’s having a difficult time!
Hopefully for those waitlisted there will be some upcoming good news.
And for those denied, maybe you’ll find that your 2nd (or 3rd) choice ends up being a better fit!

I got 12 rejections, 1 waitlist, and 2 acceptances. But I’m MORE than happy with where I’m going.

^
good job man

i would rather be like you, accepted to a place where i want to go and rejected from many others. it only shows that you were ready for rejections and would rather live in the future as a yes, and not an if. prime example: my sister. she applied to 6 colleges and got accepted to them all. she didnt go for reaches because she was “scared of rejection”.

@Collegestress- Maybe you were rejected at Stanford and Yale because both of those colleges have some form of restricted early action, meaning you can only apply to one of them early. Just a thought.

I got spring’d at my state flagship, UMCP, waitlisted at American, and impeding rejection from Johns Hopkins. Woo, 3/6. I’m not that mad, I got into two schools I really would like to go to. I’m just jealous of the people who got in everywhere they applied and such. Plus I thought I could/would get into UMCP and American.

LOL I wish it was some arbitrary reason for my rejections, but sadly no I just wasn’t good enough! I applied to Yale SCEA and RD for Stanford. I’m just glad that I have one school to lean back on, it would honestly turn me mad if at this point I didn’t have at least one safety

My GC said that I would probably be accepted to 90% of the schools on my list. He was wrong… Deffered then rejected MIT, waitlisted WUSTL (first choice), rejected Stanford + Duke. Accepted to BC. At least I know I’m going somewhere…

^ Hey, don’t doubt yourself. BC is one of the elite schools.

^^^Oh. Then I know how you’re feeling. I was rejected by Stanford SCEA and that was far and away my first choice. Oh well. I got into Duke, so it’s all good I guess.

^ Stanford is very hard to get into. Not even CCers can easily make it; admissions is a 1% luck to everyone who applied there.

I got waitlisted at Wake Forest and Elon University. i got into 4 schools though, so at least i have options…

^What schools? I assume NC State Schools?

I’ve only gotten into two schools and one of them is absolutely not an option but Amherst is still in the running if they give me good finaid. I was rejected from Duke and waitlisted everywhere else, Ivies still pending of course.

MattNC–actually no, i live in ny…so the rest were in the northeast. elon and wake forest were the only ones i applied to down south.

Soon to be waitlisted or rejected from summer programs.

Rejected from VT but didnt care one bit
Accepted to ODU, CNU,and GMU
Waitlisted to James Madison University=> MY NUMBER ONE!!!
