The SAT is ruining my life!!! Please help!!

I have a sub-standard math score, and I mean really sub-standard. I was planning on only sending my ACT and AP scores.

The school I'm applying to early decision STRONGLY recommends 2 SAT subject tests.

The College Board said that if you send in SAT subject tests, then SAT reasoning tests automatically get sent in too.

I CANNOT send in my SAT reasoning or it will ruin me. Should I disregard their recommendation and only send in my ACT and AP scores?

Has anyone else been in a similar predicament?

Sidenote: I have near perfect grades, strong extracurriculars, essays, and recommendations (as far as I know). Testing is the weak point of my application!

I think that if you send in ACT you don’t have to send in subject tests

At my school, it’s possible for the counselors to attach a sheet that has test scores on it to a transcript. If that’s true at your school then you could have your counselor put your subject tests on it and leave off your critical reasoning test.

^^ Wouldn’t matter. Schools that require SAT IIs generally require the official score report; reports on a transcript are not sufficient.

If you’ve taken the ACT, you should be OK with not taking SAT IIs. Even most schools that require (as opposed to recommend) SAT IIs accept the ACT in lieu of both SAT I and II.

It really depends on the school you’re applying to, but most colleges will take your highest score IN GENERAL. I know people who have had their higher ACT scores negate their lower SAT scores.
